India will be playing their 3rd T20I match of the 5 match T20I series against Zimbabwe today at Harere Sports Club in Zimbabwe after their record win in the 2nd T20I by 100 runs. With last's win Men in Blue have given the answers to the questions that everyone was asking from the Indian team after their daunting loss in the opening game by 13 runs. India has levelled up the series by 1-1 and will be looking to dominate the inexperienced Zimbabwe squad with the return of 3-World Cup-winning team players Shivam Dube, Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal after they got stuck in a hurricane in West Indies at Barbados in ICC Men's T20 World Cup. However, apart from Shivam Dube, the 2 players didn't get any chance to play for the team. But their morale will be very high as they were part of the team that lifted the World Cup after a long wait of 17 years. But before the start of the match, it is crucial to know who are the 3 players to watch out for in the India vs Zimbabwe 3rd T20I.
1. Abhishek Sharma
It would not be wrong to say that all eyes will be on Abhishek Sharma in the 3rd T20I against Zimbabwe after he scored his debut hundred for Men in Blue in international cricket in the 2nd T20I on 47 balls by hitting 7 boundaries and 8 monster sixes on a strike rate of 200 plus, which helped the Indian team to put a mammoth total of 234 runs on the scoreboard.
The Left-hand batsman has been going through brilliant form since the 17th edition of IPL (Indian Premier League), where he was the second-highest run-getter for the Sunrisers Hyderabad with 484 runs in 16 matches with an impressive strike rate of around 200. He also finished this year's IPL with 42 sixes and was the second-highest run-scorer for Sunrisers Hyderabad after Travis Head.
Due to his brilliant performance, the Southpaw batter received his maiden India call-up for a 5-match T20I series against Zimbabwe. However, he got out on a duck in his debut match but made a strong comeback in the second match of the series by scoring a hundred and becoming the Man of the Match.
2. Yashasvi Jaiswal
Yashasvi Jaiswal has been coming into this series after being a part of World Cup winning team in ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. Although he didn't get a chance to play for India in the marquee event, but in his debut World Cup, he learned a lot by seeing the senior players from the stands.
The destructive Southpaw batter will be hungry to score runs as he played last T20 match for the Rajasthan-based franchise in the IPL 2024. So he can be seen opening the innings or playing at number 3 in the upcoming game for Men in Blue.
3. Avesh Khan
Avesh Khan has impressed everyone with his bowling in IPL 2024 due to which he was named among 3 reserved players for the Indian team in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. However, he didn't get a chance to play but was present with the Indian team, which won the World Cup along with Rinku Singh, and Khaleel Ahmed.
Avesh travelled to Zimbabwe after celebrating India's win in a marquee event for the 5-match T20I series, which would begin just after one day. The right-arm fast bowler picked 3 wickets in 2nd T20I by conceding just 15 runs in his 3 overs of spell with an efficient economy of 5. Looking at the recent form of Avesh, he can continue to pick wickets from where he left in the last match.
