Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. Ashutosh Sharma was the showstopper in the blockbuster encounter as he displayed a sensational, heroic effort with the bat to help Delhi Capitals seal an emphatic win. This victory will definitely give a lot of confidence to both Delhi and Ashutosh for the remainder of the IPL 2025 campaign.

After losing the toss and being asked to bat first on a flat Visakhapatnam pitch, things started off on an impressive note for the Lucknow Super Giants. Despite losing the wicket of Aiden Markram in the fifth over, the duo of Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran launched a powerful assault on the opposition bowlers as they stitched an explosive partnership pf 87 runs. Marsh smashed a blazing knock of 72 runs off just 36 balls that included 6 sixes and as many fours. On the other hand, Pooran notched up a superb innings of 75 runs off only 30 deliveries that consisted of 7 sixes and 6 fours.

The trio of Mitchell Starc, Kuldeep Yadav and Mukesh Kumar picked up crucial wickets in the middle-overs to bring the Delhi Capitals back in the game. Towards the end, David Miller contributed with an important unbeaten cameo of 27 runs that helped the Lucknow Super Giants finish with a pretty challenging total of 209 for 8 in their quota of 20 overs. For the Delhi Capitals, Starc was the pick of the bowlers having taken three vital wickets while Kuldeep also bowled well to finish with a couple of scalps.

In the tricky run-chase, Delhi Capitals got off to a poor start having lost as many as four big wickets of Jake Fraser-McGurk, Abhishek Porel, Sameer Rizvi and Axar Patel inside the first six overs of the powerplay. The Delhi Capitals continued to lose wickets at regular intervals. However, then came the exciting partnership between the pair of Ashutosh Sharma and Vipraj Nigam who looked absolutely unstoppable at one stage to put the pressure back on the opposition. They combined together for an incredible partnership of 55 runs for the seventh wicket. 

In his debut IPL match for the Delhi Capitals, Vipraj Nigam batted really well smacking 39 runs off just 15 balls that included 5 fours and 2 sixes. However, eventually, it was Ashutosh Sharma who held his nerves remarkably well to unleash his power hitting skills as he single-handedly won a thrilling game for the Delhi Capitals. The swashbuckling right-hander smashed a blistering unbeaten innings of 66 runs off only 31 deliveries that consisted of 5 sixes and as many fours.
