It would not be wrong to say that United States Cricket team have already impressed everyone with their performance and skills in the concluded marquee event, where they created history in the cricketing world by qualifying for the Semi-finals of the 9th edition of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. Not only that! The USA defeated India's arch-rival, Pakistan, in group stage, which later made them eliminated from the group stage.

After the finish of ICC Men's, USA cricket team is still showing their prowess in the Major League Cricket, where an India-born batter took his team to the winning line by playing a match-winning knock from San Francisco Unicorns against Washington Freedom in a rain-interference team.

After winning the toss, San Francisco decided to bowl first at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas. Batting first, Washington Freedom scored 174 runs in 15.3 overs with the help of two Australian Batter Travis Head and Captain Steven Smith, who made an opening partnership of 101 runs in 10 overs. Later, there was a small cameo by USA batter Andre Gous and Rachin Ravindra, who scored 29 and 16 runs, taking their team to a competitive total of 174 runs.

San Francisco Unicorns have remained one of the best teams till now in the tournament, where they are leading the point table. Coming into a must-win match, they needed something special from their batters to win and take the team to Qualifiers.

Coming to bat, San Franciso lost their first wicket on the score of 0 runs on the first ball of the innings. After a blazing hitting by Jake Fraser McGurk, the Unicorns were 2 wickets down on a score of 45 runs.
They needed something special from their middle-order batters with 8 wickets in hand.

Josh Inglis and India-born batter Sanjay Krishnamurthy came to rescue San Francisco Unicorns and formed a partnership of 77 runs for the 3rd wicket-taking Unicorns to victory by 6 wickets with 8 balls remaining.

The 21-year-old USA cricketer impressed everyone with his calm and composed knock of 79 runs in 42 balls, playing an anchor role throughout the partnership with Josh Inglis and Hassan Khan. He smashed 5 boundaries and 6 Maximums all around the world. Sanjay Krishnamurthy was awarded with Player of the Match award for this impeccable knock.
