Former England captain Michael Vaughan has slammed Royal Challengers Bengaluru's team approach by assembling the best individuals but still failing to win an IPL trophy. In the ongoing IPL 2024 season, RCB are off to a horrible start, with just one win in six matches and languishing at the bottom of the points table. Vaughan, who is currently in India to cover the ongoing IPL 2024 season, recently appeared on the Beer Biceps podcast hosted by Ranveer Allahabadia, and therein, the English legend made some shocking revelations. He spoke about various topics, from his playing days to the current situation of Cricket. Michael Vaughan thrashes Virat Kohli's RCB for poor show in IPL 2024
In the Beer Biceps podcast hosted by Ranveer Allahabadia, former England captain Michael Vaughan was asked whether the issue behind RCB's lack of IPL wins is due to management or players. Vaughan said that team sports, like Cricket, have never been about individuals. Regardless of how many big players a team brings in, they cannot win trophies unless there is proper coordination.

"What I like about the fact the RCB have never won is it proves to me that team sport is not just about individuals. You can go and buy all the biggest individual names and put them into a team, but it doesn't mean you're going to win, and it's been proven at the RCB," Vaughan said on The Ranveer Show.
Highlighting the star players RCB have had, Michael Vaughan has blamed the Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) reluctance to do things differently and identify different roles for certain players for their failure to win the Indian Premier League (IPL). Vaughan emphasised that the team management should be able to tweak their team to allow different players to play in different positions.
"They have signed some incredible players – AB de Villiers, Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Faf – unbelievable players. But it tells you unless you get the whole team operating and every single play knowing the roles and identifying different roles for different people and it might be that you have to rejig your team slightly just to allow someone else to flourish in a different position. I don't see the RCB doing that," Vaughan added.
