The 9th edition of ICC Men's T20 World Cup has just begun, where a total of 55 group matches will be played among 20 cricket-playing nations in the world for a month across 9 beautiful stadiums in West Indies and USA. However, it will be the first time the USA is giving the hosting responsibility for an ICC event. But do you know? After looking at the first week of the matches, we can see in this World Cup bowlers will dominate on the slow pitches of the Caribbean and USA. So it is crucial to know, who are the top bowlers, who will be seen presenting their team in the marquee event from their respective teams. Through this article, we will check out the latest T20I Bowlers rankings. 

1. Adil Rashid

On number 1, we have England's experienced leg-spinner Adil Rashid with 722 points on ICC T20I bowlers ranking. Adil Rashid is one of the best bowlers from the English team, who picks wickets for the defending champions in the middle overs. Rashid was also part of ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 winning team last year.

Adil Rashid has represented the Three Lions team in 107 T20I matches till now, where he has picked a total of 110 wickets with an economy of 7.41 in 107 games. He will be ready for the England team to help them defend the title.

2. Wanindu Hasaranga

Wanindu Hasaranga, who has been out from International cricket due to injury, has made a return to international cricket in the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup from the Sri Lankan team after missing out on the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Apart from being one of the best spinners from the Sri Lankan team, he is also one of the destructive batters who can play a handy down the order. 4

Hasaranga is at the number 2 position in ICC rankings with 687 points despite not playing for the last few months. However, he made a solid return to Sri Lanka team, where he is seen leading the squad as a skipper and in the first match against South Africa, he picked 2 wickets in his 4 overs of a spell by conceding just 22 runs with an economy of 6.60.

Wanindu Hasaranga has represented the Sri Lankan team in a total of 66 T20I matches, where he has picked 106 wickets while conceding just 1641 runs with an efficient economy of 6.84.

3. Axar Patel

Axar Patel from Indian team has jumped from number 4th to number 3 after getting 1 point and surpassing Sri Lankan spinner with 660 points in ICC Men's T20I bowlers rankings. After impressing the selectors in the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League with his all-round performance, he has made it into India's squad of 15 men's team for the T20 World Cup 2024. It will be the 2nd T20I World Cup for the left-arm spinner.

Talking about Axar Patel, he has represented the Indian Cricket team in a total of 52 T20I matches, where he has picked 49 wickets by conceding 1186 runs in 979 balls with an efficient economy of 7.26.

4. Maheesh Theekshana

On number 4 position ICC Men's ODI ranking, we have got two bowlers, who have got an equal number of points in the ODI ranking with 659.

One is Sri Lankan bowler Maheesh Theekshana, who is part of the 15-men squad for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup team of Sri Lanka. Theekshana is entering this marquee event after playing for Chennai Super Kings in the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League. The other is Rahul Chahar, who has performed well for the Indian team in the shortest format and levelled up with the mighty Lankan spinner.

The star Mystery spinner from Sri Lanka is an economical bowler who puts pressure on batters during the middle overs. He has got a total of 659 points on the ICC Men's T20I bowlers ranking.

Theekshana has played a total of 44 T20I matches for the Lankan Lions, where he picked 44 wickets with an average of 6.70.

Apart from these 4 bowlers, Australia's Josh Hazelwood, Afghanistan's Rashid Khan and West Indies' Akeal Hosein are sitting at the 6, 7, and 8th positions, respectively. It will be really interesting to see who among these bowlers will be able to make their team win in the ongoing ICC Men's T20I World Cup 2024.
