All of the millions of cricket fanatics are waiting desperately for the much-hyped upcoming edition of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 to hit the centerstage. The much-awaited ICC 2024 T20 World Cup is scheduled to begin from 2 June, 2024 and will be hosted in the West Indies and United States. Incidentally, this will be the 9th edition of the T20I tournament after the previous seasons being played in 2022, 2021, 2016, 2014, 2012, 2010, 2009 and 2007. The Jos Buttler-led England team are the current holders of the prestigious trophy after they registered an incredible victory over England in the finals of the 2022 T20 World Cup taken place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne. ICC T20 World Cup 2024 Schedule

Just before the start of the main event, the ICC World Cup warm up matches will also be taking place in the West Indies and USA starting from 27 May, 2024. During this edition of the T20 World Cup, as many as 20 teams will be involved in the star-studded event. The Group A of the 2024 T20 World Cup schedule comprises of Pakistan, India, Ireland, Canada and USA while the Group B includes Ashes rivals, England, Australia, Namibia, Oman and Scotland. On the other hand, the Group C consists of New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda and PNG. The Group D includes the likes of South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands and Nepal. 

Interestingly, only two teams will qualify from each group for the Super 8 stage of the multi-team T20I competition. The Super 8 stage of the tournament will also consist of two groups with four teams in each group. The first semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024 will be taking place on 27 June, 2024 at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad while the second semi-final will also be played on the same day at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. 

While talking about the marquee games, the India vs Pakistan match is set to take place at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on 9 June, 2024. On the other hand, defending champions England will be locking horns with Ashes rivals Australia on 8 June scheduled at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. The International Cricket Council (ICC) have announced a reserve day for the first semi-final. However, ICC have allotted an extra 250 minutes for the second semi-final and this means there is no reserve day, which became a viral cricket news recently.
