Chennai Super Kings vs Punjab Kings IPL 2024 Match 49

CSK will be facing PBKS in the 49th match of IPL 2024

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are ready to host the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 49th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) season scheduled to be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on 1 May, 2024. Both these teams will definitely be feeling very much high on momentum having won their respective previous matches this season. Chennai Super Kings managed to register a comprehensive 78-run victory over the Sunrisers Hyderabad while the Punjab Kings went on to chase down a mammoth target of 262 runs with as many as 8 balls to spare against Kolkata Knight Riders. Both these sides will be aiming to extend their winning run further in the crucial juncture of this IPL 2024 season.

After having conceded two back-to-back defeats at the hands of Lucknow Super Giants in both home and away encounters, the Chennai Super Kings made an impressive comeback with a brilliant win over Sunrisers Hyderabad. The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led team are currently placed at the third position on the IPL 2024 points table with as many as 5 victories and 4 losses. However, the CSK team management will definitely be hoping to maintain the winning consistency in order to qualify for the IPL 2024 playoffs. The duo of skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube hold the key with the bat while right-arm speedster Matheesha Pathirana has bowled really well in this T20 competition.

On the other hand, the Punjab Kings will be feeling high on confidence after a sensational victory over Kolkata Knight Riders in their most recent IPL 2024 match. PBKS are slotted at the eighth spot on the IPL 2024 points table with as many as three wins and six losses so far. Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan has not been available for the last few games and there is still no clarity regarding his injury update. It will be really important for the spin duo of Harpreet Brar and Rahul Chahar to come good on the helpful Chepauk wicket. They will once again depend a lot on the likes Jonny Bairstow, Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma to deliver the goods in the batting department.
