The spark of PSL colliding against the same timeline as IPL seems to have transitioned into a fire. South African player Corbin Bosch signed up with a franchise for the upcoming season of the PSL. However, a late call-up to the Mumbai Indians camp for IPL 2025 saw the Protea pulling out of Pakistan's T20 league. The move, coming weeks before PSL 2025 hits the action in April, has not landed well with the Pakistan Cricket Board. Recently concluding the ICC Champions Trophy as the hosts, the PCB has served a legal notice to Corbin Bosch in what turns out to be a breach of contract on the South African's part. MI named the all-rounder as a replacement for the injured Lizaad Williams in IPL 2025.

Corbin Bosch is set to face legal repercussions for opting out of PSL in favor of IPL 2025. The upcoming seasons of both T20 leagues are set to clash this year. While the 18th edition of the IPL is slated to start on March 22, PSL kicks off on April 11. With a shorter schedule than the IPL, which runs for over two months, the entire PSL 2025 edition will be played in the shadows of IPL 2025. The final for PSL is scheduled for May 18, while IPL 2025 is set to conclude on May 25. Clashing with IPL was a bold move on Pakistan's part, the effect of which is now clear. The foreign picks have landed in a tussle over which league to opt for. Earlier, IPL handed a list of players that went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction for PSL to evaluate.

Now, a case of contention has emerged as a late call-up to the IPL saw the South African all-rounder pulling out of PSL. Drafted to play for Peshawar Zalmi in the upcoming season of PSL, Mumbai Indians named the 30-year-old as an injury replacement for IPL 2025. After Lizaad Williams endured an injury, the five-time IPL champions went for Corbin Bosch to fill in for his compatriot. Bosch, meanwhile, opted to play in the Indian league, a move that meant ditching the PSL. The move, however, has irked the Pakistan Cricket Board, which has cited a breach of contract to serve a legal notice to Bosch.

"The legal notice was served through his agent, and the player has been asked to justify his actions of withdrawing from his professional and contractual commitments," the PCB said in an official statement.

"The PCB management has also outlined the repercussions of his departure from the league and expects his response within the stipulated time frame. The PCB will not make any further comments on the matter," the board further said in its statement.
