DC vs KKR IPL 2025: Delhi Capitals aim to end home woes as they face KKR
Delhi Capitals will be locking horns with Kolkata Knight Riders in the 48th match of the Indian Premier League 2025 on Tuesday at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Delhi Capitals are placed in the fourth spot with 12 points, while Kolkata Knight Riders are sitting in seventh with just seven points to thier name.
Delhi Capitals:
After making a flawless start, Delhi Capitals have hit a rough patch. In their last five games, they have suffered three losses. It could have been four losses had Mitchell Starc not shown his class in the super-over against Rajasthan Royals. They have played three games at the Arun Jaitley Stadium so far and have lost two. The only win was against RR in the super-over. And, given that their next game is also scheduled here tomorrow, Delhi have a few concerns to address.
KL Rahul has been their highest run-getter this season. In eight games, he has 364 runs at an average of 60.67. However, he hasn’t found his touch at Arun Jaitley Stadium. His scores in the three games played here read: 15 (13), 38 (32), and 41 (39). Du Plessis didn't make an ideal comeback, either as he made just 22 runs off 26 deliveries against RCB. Delhi would be banking on Abhishek Porel in the powerplay, who has given some good starts here. He scored 33 off 25 against MI and followed it up with scores of 49 (37) and 28 (11).
Karun Nair played a phenomenal knock of 89 runs off 40 balls against Mumbai Indians, earlier, at this ground. He would be looking to replicate a similar performance tomorrow. Amidst an inconsistent run in the top four, Tristan Stubb’s form is one of the biggest positives for them. He has rarely disappointed this season, making significant contributions with the bat.
Kolkata Knight Riders:
KKR have just one win in their last five encounters in the IPL 2025. They would feel happy that the rain gods helped them earn one point against PBKS. KKR have nothing going their way right now. They have managed to secure three wins out of nine games played and in all three games, it was their bowling that stood out. Varun Chakravarthy has led the charge with the ball with 11 wickets in nine balls.
Sunil Narine, who hasn’t been that consistent, could prove to be useful on the Delhi wicket. Chetan Sakariya played the last game against PBKS and must be persisted against Delhi Capitals tomorrow. That being said, the focus would larely be on their batting. There’s no doubt about the firepower they have got but the runs have dried up from their willow.
If KKR manage to get a good start with the bat, they can post a substantial score. Along with the openers, big hitters like Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, and Ramandeep have stayed silent this season. Rovman Powell played the last game but didn’t get the opportunity to bat.
