Rajasthan Royals is leading the points table by being defeatless in the ongoing Tata Indian Premier League 2024 after defeating the Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium by 6 wickets. It is the third win for the Royals after beating Lucknow Supergiants and Delhi Capitals at Sawai mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. With this win, the Rajasthan Royals have become the table toppers, having 6 points in 3 games thanks to their incredible bowlers who stopped the destructive batting lineup of Mumbai Indians on the score of 125 runs in 20 overs. Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal picked 3-3 wickets each, which helped the Rajasthan Royals team to win the game by 6 wickets.
After winning the toss, the Royals decided to bowl first on a pitch that offered assistance to the fast bowlers, and their bowlers didn't disappoint they picked the first 4 wickets on the score of just 20 runs thanks to the Duo of Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal, who grabbed 3-3 wickets each. In the first over only, Boult got the wicket of Rohit Sharma and Namandheer on the score of 0. Rajasthan didn't stop there in the next over they got the wicket of Mumbai's wicket-keeper batter Ishan Kishan on the score of 16 on the bowling of debutant Nandre Burger.
The 5-time title winners were 4 wickets down on the score of 20 runs. However, the MI Captain Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma made a crucial partnership of 56 runs for the 5th wicket before getting caught out in the over by Yuzvendra Chahal. It would not be wrong to say that Bould demolished the Mumbai Indians' top order and Chahal demolished the middle order, Mumbai Indians in a critical situation.
Boult is already 34 and how long he can maintain his fitness and play successive games. The question was answered by Shane Bond, the bowling coach of the Royals.
"The one thing about Trent is he's super fit. He's always been in pristine condition. He's lean, he's strong, he's clearly getting older, but, the fitness holds him in good stead. And I think you're seeing players play longer now, more batsmen, but still bowlers around 35, 36 (play). He can play if he's in good shape, so I've got no worries about him," Bond said.
Rajasthan Royals will be playing their next game against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 6 at Sawai mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
