The stage is all set for the most awaited cricket match in the world between India and Pakistan for the 9th edition of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which will be played on June 9th at the newly built New York Cricket Stadium. It will be the first time these 2 Asian teams will clash against each other since the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. It will be really interesting to see the contest between India and Pakistan as both teams have one of the best players in their squad and after Mohammed Aamir and Imad Wasim return, the Pakistan team are looking stronger, who have are coming into the marquee event with an experienced squad.

Talking about the rivalry, former Pakistan captain, Shahid Afridi has linked the India-Pakistan match with the Super Bowl contest in the USA, which will be played at the newly-built cricket stadium in USA on June 9th. It will be the first time that an India vs Pak match will be played in the USA and the former Pakistan cricketer will be in the stand to support his team.

Speaking to the ICC, Afridi remarked, "For those Americans discovering the tournament, they should know that Pakistan's game against India is like our Super Bowl. I used to absolutely love playing India and I really believe it is the biggest rivalry in sport. When I played in those games, I got a lot of love and respect from the Indian fans and it means so much to both sides."

"Against India, it is about handling the pressure of the occasion. There is so much talent in both teams, they just need to put it together on the day. That will be the case in that game and in the tournament overall. The team that can hold its nerve will come out on top."

It will be the first time the USA is given the hosting responsibility for an ICC event as a co-host with West Indies to promote Gentlemen's Game globally.

Throwing light on this Afridi said,

"T20 cricket is so unpredictable, and teams can bat so deep now. You can have a batter coming in at No.8 and smashing the ball at a strike rate of 150 to win a game. I hope that will be Pakistan this time around, but it is hard to pick a favorite,"

However, Men in Green are coming into this game after facing a horrific defeat against Ireland in the opening game of the 3-match-T20I series against Ireland and losing and losing the series against England by 2-0.
