Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has weighed in on the rollercoaster journey of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2024 season. With just one victory in their first seven matches, RCB's fate seemed sealed for an early exit. However, a commendable streak of wins has injected a glimmer of hope, though their spot in the qualifiers hangs by a thread. Looking ahead, the looming mega auction poses the prospect of a significant roster shake-up for RCB. Amidst this uncertainty, Harbhajan Singh advocates for the return of Virat Kohli as the team's leader. Expressing his opinion, he underlines the necessity of an Indian figurehead to helm the franchise. Drawing parallels to the influential leadership of MS Dhoni in the Chennai Super Kings, Harbhajan contends that Kohli possesses a similar magnetic aura capable of galvanizing RCB to greater heights.

The narrative echoes the sentiment of many cricket enthusiasts, highlighting the pivotal role of a strong leader in steering a team through tumultuous waters. With RCB's future hanging in the balance, the prospect of Kohli's resurgence as captain emerges as a beacon of hope for fans and pundits alike. As the IPL 2024 season unfolds, all eyes remain fixed on RCB's trajectory and the potential renaissance under Kohli's leadership.

“If they don't qualify, they should look to get some Indian guy. Why not bring Virat Kohli back as captain. As Dhoni has a lot of impact in Chennai, Virat Kohli is a big leader, he knows the kind of cricket they need to play. Now they are playing with a lot of aggression, lot of intent and that is what Virat Kohli brings. I would like to see Virat Kohli leading the side going forward," said former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh during a recent interview.

Kohli continues to dominate the cricketing scene with another remarkable season at 35 years old. Across 13 matches, he amassed an impressive 661 runs at a striking rate of 155.16, solidifying his position as the tournament's leading run-scorer.

Meanwhile, RCB finds themselves in a precarious position, currently occupying fifth place on the points table after 13 matches. To secure a spot in the playoffs, the Faf du Plessis-led team must triumph over the formidable Chennai Super Kings in their final league match. However, their fate also depends on the outcomes of matches involving Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants, and Sunrisers Hyderabad. It's a tense scenario, as RCB must not only clinch victory but also hope for favorable results elsewhere to extend their journey in the tournament.
