With India and Pakistan finally arriving at a consensus, the path has been cleared for all the details of the much-awaited ICC Champions Trophy to be revealed. The ICC has announced the fixtures for the upcoming edition of the marquee event. The tournament is set to kick off on February 19, 2025, in Karachi, with the hosts facing off against New Zealand. The event, as agreed upon, will follow a hybrid model of play, with India playing its fixtures in the UAE. The final is scheduled for March 9 and will take place in Lahore unless India reaches the stage. In that case, the final will be held in Dubai.

The schedule for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy has finally taken shape after a prolonged tussle between India and Pakistan. The BCCI refused to send the Indian team to the neighboring nation, which had secured the hosting rights for the ICC event. The two neighboring countries share strained relations, with political tensions persistently affecting their interactions across the border. Consequently, the BCCI was steadfast in its stance, citing concerns over the safety of its players in Pakistan.

Pakistan, on the other hand, remained determined to reap the benefits associated with hosting the tournament. However, the matter was resolved when the ICC intervened. Pakistan agreed to a hybrid model as a compromise was reached. The ICC ruled that all events scheduled in either India or Pakistan during the 2023–27 cycle would be held at neutral venues.

ICC Champions Trophy Fixtures

Now, the anticipation has turned into reality as India and Pakistan have been placed in the same group for the marquee event. Joining the arch-rivals in the group are Bangladesh and New Zealand. The next group will feature Australia, England, Afghanistan, and South Africa locking horns at the group stage. India's opening fixture is scheduled for February 20, where they will face Bangladesh in Dubai. Next, they take on the hosts at the same venue on February 23. India's final league stage match is set for March 2 against New Zealand.

The first semi-final, which India will play if they advance past the group stage, is scheduled to be held in Dubai on March 4. No reserve day has been allocated for this semi-final. However, the second semi-final, slated to take place in Lahore on March 5, has a reserve day, as does the final, which is set for March 9. If India fails to secure a spot in the final, the ultimate match of the ICC Champions Trophy will be played in Lahore. However, if the reigning T20 World Cup champions make it to the final, the ICC event will be held in Dubai.
