IND vs SL: Why Is Arshdeep Singh Not Playing Sri Lanka vs India 3rd ODI Match? Check India Playing XI

The latest news development is that India are not playing their premier left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh against hosts Sri Lanka in the third and final ODI match being hosted at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The Indian team will definitely be feeling a bit low on confidence after they suffered a poor 32-run defeat in the recently concluded Sri Lanka vs India 2nd ODI match on Sunday. Sri Lanka have currently taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series as the opening encounter ended in a tie. 

IND vs SL: Why Is Arshdeep Singh Not Playing Sri Lanka vs India 3rd ODI match?

Indian captain Rohit Sharma was once again unlucky as he ended up losing his third toss in a row and he was yet again asked to field first. Rohit noted that India have left out their premier left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh from the India Playing XI on Wednesday. Arshdeep ended up taking as many as two wickets in the first ODI match against Sri Lanka but he finished wicketless in the second ODI game. While talking about his ODI career so far, the left-arm speedster has picked up a total of 12 wickets from 8 matches at an average of 24.08. 

Interestingly, the visiting Indian team are playing just a single frontline fast bowler, Mohammed Siraj, in their playing XI for this final ODI encounter against Sri Lanka. On the other hand, Shivam Dube can provide some overs of medium-pace bowling while the likes of Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav and Riyan Parag are the spinners in the side. 

"Plenty to play for, we've been challenged in the last two matches. It's clear as to what we need to do with the bat and ball. We've addressed it - what we need to do as a group. You got to give credit to the opposition, they played well and understood the position well. Another opportunity for us to correct. Two changes. We have Rishabh and Riyan Parag in place of KL and Arshdeep," said Indian captain Rohit Sharma during the toss.
