India vs England: Why is Arshdeep Singh not playing today's IND vs ENG 5th T20I? Check India Playing 11
In a massive breaking news development, premier left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh is not playing the India vs England fifth and final T20I match being hosted at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Hosts India have already taken an unassailable lead of 3-1 in the five-match T20I series after a sensational 15-run victory in the fourth T20I encounter. On the other hand, the visiting England team will be hoping to play for pride and put up a strong show against this brilliant Indian side.
Why is Arshdeep Singh not playing India vs England 5th T20I?
After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav revealed that Arshdeep Singh misses out from the India playing XI for this IND vs ENG 5th T20I match. Incidentally, Arshdeep is the highest wicket-taker for India in the shorter format of the game with a total of 99 scalps from as many as 63 T20I matches at a fine economy of 8.3. The left-arm pacer has picked up 4 wickets in three games so far during the five-match T20I series. However, it seems that India have rested their premier fast bowler as they have already won the series.
On the other hand, senior fast bowler Mohammed Shami is once again back into the India playing 11, featuring in just his second match during this India vs England five-match T20I home series. While making a return to international cricket, Shami previously played the third T20I against England in Rajkot where he went wicketless in three overs having conceded 25 runs.
"We wanted to bat first, looks a good wicket. I am hoping there won't be much dew. It's going to be a full-packed stadium tonight. We want the boys taking that responsibility, that's what we demand and that's what they are doing. You will fail sometimes, especially when you play that high risk, high reward game. Shami comes back in for Arshdeep Singh," stated India captain Suryakumar Yadav during the toss.
