India won the 5-match T20I series by 4-1 after defeating the home team by 42 runs in the final match of the series. This win came after a shocking loss in the opening game by 13 runs. However, Men in Blue bounced back from that and made an outstanding return in the series by winning 4 back-to-back games. India vs Zimbabwe 1st T20I
It was the first game of the series, where Indian team won the toss and decided to bowl first at Harare Sports Club, stopping the home team on a score of 115 runs in 20 overs. The Indian team came into the series after winning the 9th edition of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in West Indies with a young squad who impressed the selectors through their performance in the 17th edition of the IPL ( Indian Premier League) from their respective franchise.
However, India faced a shocking defeat in the opening game by 13 runs while chasing a target of 115 runs in 20 overs due to poor performance by the middle-order batsman, who could not score runs and got out after continuous intervals.
India vs Zimbabwe 2nd T20I
After facing a disappointing loss in the opening match of the series, the Indian team played like world -champions in the 2nd match of the series, where batting first they put in a mammoth total of 234 runs in 20 overs with the help of Abhishek Sharma, who was playing his debut series for the Indian team, he scored a ton in 47 balls while opening the innings with captain Shubman Gill. Abhishek's blazing knock gave a fiery start to the Indian team, which was later supported by Rinku Singh and Ruturaj Gaikwad, scoring 48 and 77 runs, respectively.
The home team scored only 134 runs in 20 overs, losing the match by 100 runs. Mukesh Kumar and Ravi Bishnoi picked 3 and 2 wickets, respectively.
India vs Zimbabwe 3rd T20I
After making return in the series by winning the last match by a margin of 100 runs. India made a few changes in the playing XI for the 3rd T20I by replacing Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel and Sai Sudarshan in the place of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube, who returned to the Indian team after missing out the first 2 games due to a hurricane in West Indies.
Batting first India posted a total of 182 runs in 20 overs with the help of brilliant knock by captain Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad, who scored 66 and 49 runs, respectively. In the second innings, the Indian bowlers stopped the home team on 159 runs with the help of Washington Sundar and Avesh Khan, who bowled well and helped the Men in Blue to win the match by 23 runs.

Men in Blue were leading the series after winning 2 back-to-back games and it was a much-win game for the Zimbabwe team to stay alive in the series. After winning the toss, India opted to bowl first and stopped the home team on a score of 152 runs in 20 overs with Khaleel Ahmed and debutant Tushar Deshpande picking 2 and 1 wickets, respectively.
After performing well with the ball in the first innings, the Indian batters again showed their dominance by making a record-breaking partnership of 156 runs for the opening wicket and chasing the target 4 overs before by 10 wickets.
Yashasvi Jaiswal and captain Shubman Gill were the heroes of this match, who scored 93 runs and 58 runs playing a crucial knock to win the game by 10 wickets.

India had already won the series after winning the last match, this game was a game for Zimbabwe to play for their pride and finish off the series on a good note and they fought really well in this game by picking 3 crucial wickets of the Indian team on the score of 40 runs in first 6 overs of the powerplay. However, Rajasthan Royals players, Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag saved the team by forming a partnership of 65 runs, taking the Indian team to a respectable total of 167 runs in 20 overs.
Later, in the second innings, Indian bowlers did their job and stopped the home team on a score of 125 runs helping the Indian team to win the match by 42 runs.
