England is currently in the throes of preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 set to take place in the West Indies and the USA. Nasser Hussain, the former England captain, has emphasized the significant role played by the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 in shaping the team's readiness for this prestigious tournament. Fresh from a triumphant 2-0 series win against Pakistan, under the leadership of Jos Buttler, the England squad is poised to carry forward their scorching form into the impending World Cup. Notably, eight players from the IPL 2024 have secured spots in the Three Lions' roster, a testament to the invaluable exposure to high-stakes encounters and intense pressure situations afforded by the IPL.

Hussain underscores the immense value of this experience in honing the team's skills and fortitude, ensuring they are primed to confront the upcoming challenges with confidence and composure. The synergy between their recent successes and the IPL stint has infused the England squad with a potent mix of skill, strategy, and resilience, positioning them as formidable contenders in the T20 spectacle on the horizon.

“They’re a very balanced side, they’ve played in a lot of big games. We don’t talk enough about the IPL and how that obviously sets you up as a cricketer but also sets you up in big games. And under pressure and big crowds and that’s what you need going into a World Cup. So they’ve done all that they could do,” said Nasser Hussain on Sky Sports.

Former England skipper Nasser Hussain highlighted the crucial importance of mastering pressure situations, a skill cultivated in English players through their IPL participation. The IPL's ambiance, featuring matches amid massive crowds, served as an ideal platform for replicating the intense pressure anticipated in the upcoming World Cup.

Jos Buttler and his compatriots will transition directly from IPL action to the T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA. Their first group stage encounter is against Scotland on June 4. Notably, they share their group with perennial rivals Australia, setting the stage for a highly anticipated clash scheduled for June 8.

“They’ve just got to be better than they were at that 50-over World Cup. They went into that with a lot of hope and it didn’t start well and they didn’t react well. So they need to have a Plan B. If we don’t start well, if things don’t go well, how do we react? How do we react to slower pitches? How do we react when better sides come up against us? But under Buttler and what they’ve got in this side they’re in a real good place. They just got to go and do it,” Hussain added.
