South African wicketkeeper batter Heinrich Klaasen produced an extraordinary piece of glovework to dismiss Shikhar Dhawan stumped, off the bowling of Bhuvneshwar Kumar as Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 2 runs in match 23 of the Indian Premier League 2024 season at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur on Tuesday. A game-changing moment occurred in the fifth over when Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a full delivery outside off, inviting Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan to come down the track. With wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen standing up to the stumps, Dhawan missed the ball completely, allowing Klaasen to display his lightning-quick reflexes. Klaasen collected the ball and broke the stumps in a flash, sending Dhawan back to the pavilion.

In a thrilling encounter at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) secured a narrow 2-run victory over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in match 23 of the IPL 2024 season. After posting a 183-run target for the hosts, Hyderabad survived a late comeback attempt from the PBKS' uncapped Indian duo of Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma, who almost did the impossible, smashing 29 runs off the last six balls. The Punjab Kings came very close to chasing down the target before Jaydev Unadkat held his nerves to deliver a 2-run win for the Sunrisers.

Star wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen produced a phenomenal piece of stumping off a pacer during Tuesday's match between SRH and PBKS. The stumping was even more impressive because the delivery was bowled at a quick 140kph pace. Chasing a target of 183, Punjab Kings got off to a shaky start, losing wickets early in the powerplay due to poor shot selections. By the end of the sixth over, PBKS found themselves three down for just 27 runs, making it the lowest powerplay score of the IPL 2024 season. However, the match-winners from the previous game, Ashutosh Sharma and Shashank Singh, almost pulled off a sensational victory.

Ashutosh played an impactful knock of 33 runs off 15 balls, while Shashank Singh continued his top form with a superb 46 off 25 deliveries. Despite their valiant efforts, PBKS required 29 runs in the last over, ultimately falling short by just 2 runs. With this win, SRH maintained their 5th position in the points table, but they have now taken a two-point lead over Punjab Kings, who also remain sixth. The SRH are now level on points with the Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Super Giants, and Chennai Super Kings (all on six points).
