Five-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants are all set to face off for the second time in IPL 2024, with the KL Rahul-led Super Giants having the bragging rights in the recent encounter after a dominating 8-wicket win in Lucknow. Both CSK and LSG have won four out of seven matches so far and are fourth (CSK) and fifth (LSG) in the points table, respectively, with net run rate separating them. The LSG skipper KL Rahul scored 82 off just 53 balls in Lucknow on Friday, April 19, to help his team chase down the target of 177. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni continued entertaining the fans as he slammed 28 off 9 balls. Ahead of the high-octane clash in Chennai, KL Rahul praised his former Indian captain MS Dhoni for not changing his personality, even after being so successful.
KL Rahul reveals why MS Dhoni is a true great, both on and off the field
Ahead of the high-octane clash between Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, LSG captain KL Rahul praised his former Indian captain MS Dhoni for not changing his personality, even after being so successful. Dhoni is one of the most loved and respected cricketers of all time. It is incredible that MS Dhoni is the only captain to win all three ICC events. He is also a five-time IPL-winning captain.

"I think how simple he has kept the game, and that is on the field. But off the field, from a personality point of view, one thing that has really stuck with me is how he has never felt that need to change his personality. He is just like so true to who he is. Really grounded, really humble, which everybody knows. But that is really hard to do when you've achieved so much, and you've been such a successful captain," KL Rahul said in a recent interview.
The 42-year-old young wicketkeeper has 17,266 runs, 634 catches and 195 stumping in international cricket after playing 538 matches. However, the wicketkeeper-batter has managed to keep his feet grounded. LSG captain KL Rahul recently heaped praise on MS Dhoni for his ability to keep himself balanced while sticking to his humble nature even after achieving so much success in his cricketing career.
"There's so many good things said about you, and he has always somehow been able to keep the good and the bad things away and just remain neutral and balance. He always needs to have a smile on his face. He enjoys playing the game. Whether you've won or lost, you'll always see him being the same person," Rahul concluded.
. @msdhoni may be on the opposing team tonight, but @klrahul has nothing but love and respect for him! 💛

In the IPL 2024 season, the Chennai Super Kings have won four and lost three matches so far. CSK are currently in the fourth position in the points table and would like to come back to their winning momentum. On the other hand, KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants are coming on the back of a massive victory against Chennai Super Kings in Lucknow. LSG have won four and lost three matches and are currently in the fifth position in the points table, just behind CSK due to net run rate. Coming back to their fortress, Chepauk, the Chennai Super Kings would be looking to take revenge and grab the all-important 2 points on offer.
