Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in match 10 of the Indian Premier League 2024 season on March 29, Friday at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. Faf du Plessis-led RCB started their IPL campaign with a disappointing loss against five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by six wickets. They bounced back strong in their second game against Punjab Kings (PBKS), securing a four-wicket victory at home. On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer's KKR started their season with a four-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at home. The Knight Riders will be playing their first away game in this edition and hoping to maintain their winning streak. All eyes will be on Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir as both teams won their previous matches, with KKR beating Sunrisers Hyderabad and RCB doing the same against Punjab Kings. Although the victories were not easy, they will be eager to build on that confidence.

Kohli vs Gambhir - A clash of old foes with high-voltage history

It all started at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, with Gautam Gambhir having a verbal exchange with Moises Henriques after the two collided as Gambhir was going for a quick single. Later in the game, Gambhir and Virat Kohli had a go at each other and had to be physically separated by a third Delhi boy, Rajat Bhatia.

Three years later, at the same venue, Yusuf Pathan and Andre Russell gave KKR a come-from-behind win, and Gambhir showed his emotions by kicking a chair in the dugout, an act for which he was fined 15% of his match fee. The rivalry between Virat Kohli and Gambhir was reignited in the previous season when RCB played against Lucknow Super Giants, whose mentor was Gambhir. This year, Gambhir is back with KKR in the same role.

Speaking about the first win of the Royal Challengers in the IPL 2024 season, Virat Kohli 77(49) played a fantastic knock, which helped them cross the victory line. Dinesh Karthik played a brilliant knock of 28 runs off just 10 balls, which helped RCB win the match comfortably. Mahipal Lomror came as an Impact Player and really played an impactful knock 17*(8). KKR's Sunil Narine bowled a game-changing spell of 1/19 in the first match against SRH. With his impactful spell, KKR hopes he'll continue to bowl well against RCB's strong batting line-up.
