Kolkata Knight Riders' youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi set the stage on fire in his maiden IPL innings with a thrilling half-century against Delhi Capitals. Raghuvanshi made his debut in IPL 2024 against Royal Challengers Bangalore, but he did not get a chance to bat at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Meanwhile, he owned the centre stage with his wide range of shots all around the ground on Wednesday. He smashed a 25-ball half-century at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam. Raghuvanshi came out to bat at number 3 after the early departure of Phil Salt, and the 18-year-old immediately hit back-to-back boundaries. He and Sunil Narine matched beats to unleash carnage on the DC bowling attack.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi: Youngest To Score Fifty In Maiden IPL Innings
Angkrish Raghuvanshi, an 18-year-old from New Delhi, moved to Mumbai for better cricketing opportunities. He quickly became one of the most notable young batters. After a string of good scores in age-group cricket, Angkrish Raghuvanshi was picked for the Indian Under-19 World Cup 2022. In the game against Uganda, the right-handed batter struck 144 runs from off 120 balls with 22 fours and four sixes. Angkrish Raghuvanshi is yet to play a first-class match but has already played List A and T20 games for Mumbai. In 5 List A games, Raghuvanshi has smashed 133 runs with a highest of 57.

Kolkata Knight Riders picked the youngster for INR 20 Lakhs during the IPL 2024 auctions. His first game for KKR came as an impact player when he came onto the field at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. In his first innings in the IPL 2024 season, Raghuvanshi played some fantastic shots. His fifty came off just 25 balls as the entire KKR dugout stood up to applaud. If he can keep his run-scoring form going, the 18-year-old could soon be part of the Indian team in the T20 format.

P.S- A special SRK story right there
Angkrish Raghuvanshi (18y, 303d) is the youngest of the 23 players with a 50+ score in their maiden IPL innings. The previous youngest was Shreevats Goswami, who scored 52 on his IPL debut in 2008, a day after turning 19. Raghuvanshi is overall the 7th youngest batter to score a fifty in the IPL and the 2nd youngest for Knight Riders, behind Shubman Gill (18y, 237d) in 2018.

Sunil Narine, Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Vaibhav Arora power KKR as the Knight Riders handed Capitals a thrashing to make it three wins in three and cemented their place at the top of the table with a massive net run rate boost. KKR's massive target of 273 was too much for the Capitals as they gave in to the pressure and ended up suffering a 106-run defeat despite fifties from Rishabh Pant and Tristan Stubbs.
