The Delhi Capitals (DC) have not had the best of campaigns so far in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) season. Delhi Capitals have managed to win just a single and have witnessed as many as four losses at the hands of Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings in this T20 competition. The Rishabh Pant-led team are currently languishing at the bottom of the IPL 2024 points table. The Delhi Capitals are scheduled to take on the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 26th game of IPL 2024 taking place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on 12 April, 2024.

The Delhi Capitals team management are still sweating over injuries to premier spinner Kuldeep Yadav and right-arm pace bowler Mukesh Kumar. Interestingly, Kuldeep has missed the last three matches for the Delhi Capitals due to a groin injury while Mukesh did not played the previous two games as he is nursing a hamstring injury. Ahead of their match against Lucknow Super Giants starting on Friday, Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting is very much confident that both these players are very likely to attain complete fitness. 

"We're hoping that they'll both be available. Both those guys are obviously first picked in our starting time, so the last couple of games we sort of haven't been able to take the part with our full-strength team," said Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting during the pre-match press conference. 

"Our best cricket has been really good, but three or four overs in almost every game has been the difference for us. We've conceded too many runs late in a couple of our bowling innings, and when we've had crucial run chases, we haven't been able to quite nail them," he added.
