Is Mayank Yadav playing the MI vs LSG IPL 2025 match?
Fixed in a mid-table tussle, Lucknow Super Giants are eyeing a win at Wankhede to break into the top half of the IPL 2025 points table. The group, led by Rishabh Pant, has been hot and cold this season, struggling to string together consistent wins. However, their chances of playoff contention in IPL 2025 remain fairly high, with LSG having earned 10 points across 9 matches. Meanwhile, the MI vs LSG IPL 2025 match seems earmarked as the return fixture for their ace pacer, Mayank Yadav. LSG dropped a clear hint about the availability of their primary seamer for the afternoon clash against Mumbai Indians, who head into the game riding a four-match winning streak.
Lucknow Super Giants hint at the return of Mayank Yadav in the MI vs LSG IPL 2025 match
Ahead of their crucial clash against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, April 27, Lucknow Super Giants dropped a big hint regarding the potential return of Mayank Yadav. On Saturday, April 26, LSG posted a promotional video on their social media, where Mayank Yadav, dressed in the team jersey, featured prominently in the build-up to the MI vs LSG match.

Mayank Yadav has not featured in any competitive cricket since India's T20I series against Bangladesh in October 2024. After battling back and toe injuries, he rejoined the LSG squad before their fixture against Rajasthan Royals on April 19. However, the pacer is yet to join the LSG Playing XI for a match in the ongoing season.
During their last fixture, the LSG vs DC match at home in Lucknow on April 22, the seamer was listed among the Impact Player options. However, the team opted for youngster Ayush Badoni over him after withdrawing Mitchell Marsh. With playoff qualification still a fair distance away, it remains to be seen if LSG unleash Yadav against MI. The pacer made headlines last season, clocking speeds of 156.7 kmph against RCB at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, one of the fastest deliveries recorded by an Indian bowler.
The seamer's IPL 2024 journey, though promising, was short-lived, as injuries cut short his campaign after just three games. In that brief window, he claimed seven wickets at an impressive economy of 6.98, and won consecutive Player of the Match awards against PBKS and RCB. Currently, Lucknow sit sixth on the points table with 10 points from nine games and a net run rate of -0.054. They will be keen to bounce back after suffering an eight-wicket defeat at the hands of DC.
