Everything has a downside, even having a worldwide fan following. Virat Kohli, over the years, has emerged as the most followed sportsperson in the world. However, at his core, the modern-day legend holds his privacy very dear. The Indian batter and his wife, Anushka Sharma, coming from a similarly widely-followed field, Bollywood, are keen on restoring the 'personal' aspect of their lives. Maybe that is why the couple is considering moving to London permanently. This discussion has been mainstream for quite some time now, but a more solid update has emerged, with Kohli’s former coach speaking about it.
Coach confirms the plans of Virat Kohli to permanently move to London
Rajkumar Sharma, the childhood coach of Virat Kohli, spoke at length about the player as Kohli plays in the Border Gavaskar Trophy down under. One of the topics of discussion was Kohli potentially shifting bases. The prolific player has been seen traveling back and forth from London to match locations. In fact, during the break between India’s title victory at the T20 World Cup and the subsequent Sri Lanka tour, Kohli was seen spending time in London with his family. Moreover, during the gap between India’s home Test series against Bangladesh and New Zealand, Virat Kohli managed to find enough time to visit London. Rumors have been circulating about the Indian cricketer having accepted the English city as his home. Now, confirmation seems to have emerged as his coach shared the development.
"Yes, Virat plans to move to London with his children and wife, Anushka Sharma. He is going to leave India and shift very soon. However, right now, Kohli is spending most of his time with his family apart from cricket," Rajkumar Sharma said.
The 36-year-old recently made headlines after he was seen directing the Australian media to refrain from photographing him with his family. Both Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have maintained a firm stance against the media capturing them when they are with their kids. The parents of Vamika and Akaay have tried everything to keep their children's faces away from the public gaze. The move to London seems like an attempt to lead a life away from the media’s watch once Virat Kohli leaves the sport behind.
