Star India batter Jemimah Rodrigues recently talked about how her Women's Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) stint with the Trinbago Knight Riders Women (TKR) for the first time will help her in handling high-pressure situations ahead of the Women's T20 World Cup 2024. Jemimah Rodrigues would have it no other way than to test herself in a competitive global T20 league, especially when there's a bigger picture, like the upcoming women's T20 World Cup in the UAE this October. Apart from Rodrigues, star India pacer Shikha Pandey will also play for Trinbago Knight Riders women under the watchful eyes of legendary Indian pacer Jhulan Goswami who is the TKR's mentor. The Women's T20 World Cup 2024 in the UAE will begin in October after it was shifted from Bangladesh due to political tensions in the country.
Jemimah Rodrigues credits TKR stint for Women's T20 World Cup 2024 preparation
Having played in the Hundred and WBBL, star India batter Jemimah Rodrigues is currently playing in the Women's Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) for Trinbago Knight Riders Women (TKR), alongside India team-mate Shikha Pandey. Jemimah recently talked about how her WCPL 2024 stint with the TKR for the first time will help her in handling high-pressure situations ahead of the women's T20 World Cup 2024. The Women's T20 World Cup 2024 in the UAE will begin in October after it was shifted from Bangladesh due to political tensions in the country.
"Firstly, just to come out and play cricket because, for me, that’s how I see it before the (women’s) T20 World Cup (2024). I think these are the matches that I'm actually going to get, as the rest will be my own preparation. The more you're in that situation and in those pressure moments, I think that's the best preparation you can have. So, for me, I look at it (WCPL) more as a preparation for the T20 World Cup," Jemimah Rodrigues told Fancode.

Jemimah Rodrigues also talked about some things that she has been looking forward to improving in her game ahead of the major cricket tournaments. Rodrigues highlighted the importance of preparation for the upcoming women’s T20 World Cup. Apart from Jemimah, star India pacer Shikha Pandey will also play for Trinbago Knight Riders women in the WCPL 2024 under the watchful eyes of legendary Indian pacer Jhulan Goswami who is the TKR's mentor.
"Really looking forward to a few things that I'm working on at Nets and I am trying to implement them here. Because when you do it in practice, it's different. But when you do it in a match, it's way different. At the same time, I have an added responsibility playing for TKR to do whatever I can to make sure my team wins in the end," Jemimah added.

As the star India batter builds towards her 4th women's T20 World Cup, Jemimah Rodrigues would've had to be content with preparatory camps and practice matches if not for the WCPL stint. Jemimah who is known to be a conventional touch player had to move out of her comfort zone and bat at No. 5, with India women head coach Amol Muzumdar keen on her bringing stability to the middle order. However, Rodrigues is batting at No. 3 in the WCPL 2024.
