England star opening batsman Jonny Bairstow, who plays for the English cricket team in all three formats as an opening batsman is all set to play for Jaburg Super Kings in the second edition of SA20 2025. He will be seen playing for the first time in the South Africa T20 League. Apart from that, Faf du Plessis, Gerald Coetzee and Donavan Ferreira are among the other players, who are retained by the franchise. However, they have traded Tabraiz Shamshi from Paarl Royals with Dayyan Galiem going the other way.
The England opening batter who made his debut in 2011, his first ODI hundred came against West Indies at Trent Bridge in 2017 when England was required to chase 205 runs to win the game and Bairstow scored 100 not out while opening the innings and leading them to a seven-wicket victory.
Currently, Jonny Bairstow is one of the best-opening batters in England cricket. However, after Phil Salt's inclusion in the team in T20Is he plays as a middle-order batsman from the England team in T20Is and Test Matches.
Bairstow has represented the England team in 100 Test matches and 100 Test matches and 107 ODIs where he scored 6042 and 3868 runs, with an incredible average of 36 and 42 with having 12 and 11 tons respectively.
Meanwhile, the list of retentions includes Moeen Ali, Maheesh Theekshana and David Wiese. Nandre Burger, Lizaad Williams and Imran Tahir will also return to the Super Kings after helping them reach the Qualifier in the previous edition.
Reeza Hendricks and Sam Cook are the notable absentees from last season. There will be additions to the 13-member squad, which du Plessis will continue to captain, at the auction.
