Mayank Yadav, who became the fastest Indian bowler in the history of the Indian Premier League this season, has become the talk of the town for his accuracy and express pace. After clocking a speed of 156.7 kmph and securing two back-to-back Player of the Match awards, Mayank Yadav's mother, Mamta Yadav, spoke about the dietary habits of her son, which helped him gain instant success in the IPL 2024 season. In his IPL debut against Punjab Kings at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Mayank Yadav picked up his first wicket, sending Jonny Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh and Jitesh Sharma back to the pavilion to guide LSG to a comfortable win. Mayank destroyed the Royal Challengers Bengaluru middle order, dismissing Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell, and Cameron Green in his 2nd match. Following the two top-quality performances from Mayank Yadav, his mother spoke about her son's dietary habits and how he turned vegetarian recently after eating non-veg food for a long while.
Veggies - The top secret behind Mayank Yadav's sheer Pace and Accuracy
Lucknow Super Giants' latest pace sensation, Mayank Yadav, has been making waves in the IPL 2024 season so far. Mayank has been hailed as India's next fast bowling sensation by analysts and fans. The right-arm pacer has been exceptional in his two outings, consistently bowling at speeds over 150 kph. His pace and accuracy, hitting the right line and length consistently, have caught the attention of many. It is interesting to get to know about the diet of a pacer who bowls at such a rapid pace. Precision is required both on and off the field. During a recent interview, Mayank's mother, Mamta Yadav, has provided insights into his lifestyle. Surprisingly, she disclosed that the LSG speedster quit non-vegetarian food to adapt to the domestic schedule.
"Mayank has just turned vegetarian. Earlier, he used to eat non-veg food. He has been eating vegetarian food for the last two years. Whatever he has been asking us to make, based on his diet chart, we would make for him. He wouldn't eat anything special, dal, roti, rice, milk, veggies, etc," Mamta Yadav said in an interview with Aaj Tak.
"He said that non-veg food wasn't suiting his body much. He told us about two reasons. The first was that he started to believe in Lord Krishna, and that could be one of the reasons too. We didn't force him to reveal why he quit non-veg food. He said whatever he was doing was good for his game and his body," she added.
Mayank Yadav was drafted into the LSG camp in IPL 2022. He had to stay out of the action for the season and missed out the subsequent season owing to a hamstring injury. The 21-year-old pace sensation has appeared with a positive intent in IPL 2024. Mayank has bowled the fastest delivery of the IPL 2024 season as he clocked 156.7 kph against Cameron Green in a recent match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Mayank Yadav will be back in action when his team, Lucknow Super Giants, take on Gujarat Titans at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Sunday, April 7.
