India exceeded expectations as they batted against Bangladesh in Delhi in the second India vs Bangladesh T20I clash. The hosts thrashed Bangladesh bowlers all over the Arun Jaitley stadium to smash a gigantic total of 221 runs. While Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma up the batting order fumbled to impress, next in line Nitish Kumar Reddy grabbed the spotlight as he scored his maiden T20I half-century. The attack, furthermore, was amplified by blazing cameos by Hardik Pandya and Rinku Singh. All-rounder Riyan Parag concluded the first inning by hitting two maximums as India edged past the 200-run mark.

Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bowl first at the Delhi track in the second India vs Bangladesh T20I. Evidently, the guests started out well with the white-ball as they dismissed Sanju Samson at the score of 10 off 7. The knock proved another failure for the wicket-keeper batter who has been promoted to the opening position in the absence of Shubman Gill. Subsequently, youngster Abhishek Sharma departed in the next over against Hasan Sakib after hitting three boundaries and accumulating just 15 runs. However, the tables turned for India as Nitish Kumar Reddy took the pitch.

Nitish Kumar Reddy earned his Indian cap in the 1st India vs Bangladesh T20I in Gwalior. While the all-rounder didn’t get much to show with the bat in his maiden outing, the youngster starred in the second match. In only his second T20 International, 21-year-old Reddy made a statement on the international stage with an explosive half-century. The batter’s spectacular knock transformed India’s game in the match pushing Bangladesh to the back foot after they had scalped three wickets within the powerplay.\

The all-rounder showed noteworthy game awareness as he started cautiously reading the situation precisely. A free-hit chance set Reddy in action as he changed his approach to trigger a run-fest against Bangladesh. Reddy along with the swashbuckling Rinku Singh formed a crucial 108-run partnership for the fourth wicket as India regained their dominance in the clash.Smashing the Bangladeshi bowlers all over the boundary, Reddy reached his maiden half-century off just 27 deliveries.

The batter didn’t slow down after the feat as he continued his onslaught, finishing with an electrifying 74 off 34 balls. His 74-run stand included seven towering sixes and four fours. The merciless beating by a player featuring in his maiden series left Bangladesh clueless as they bowed out of control swiftly in the match. Emerging as the highest-scorer for India in the match, Reddy became the fourth youngest Indian to knock a half-century in the shortest format.

India’s batting onslaught was extended by Hardik Pandya and Rinku Singh, a show displaying true hitting. Pandya continued his purple form as witnessed in the last match as he smashed 2 sixes and 2 fours. Rinku Singh, meanwhile, came up with his half-century as he thrashed 3 sixes and 5 boundaries to take India’s score past the 200 mark. Understanding the condition well and exploiting the already beaten Bangladesh, Parag smashed two sixes of his own before departing at the score of 15 off 6.

In response to the mammoth chase of 222 set by India, Bangladesh could manage just 135. Parvez Hossain started aggressively, hitting Arshdeep Singh for three boundaries in the first over. However, as Arshdeep claimed the opener bowled, Bangladesh quickly fell against the Indian bowling attack. Building on the tone set by Arshdeep, Indian spinners maintained the pressure.

Washington Sundar struck in his first over, dismissing Najmul Hossain Shanto before Varun Chakaravarthy and Abhishek Sharma clean bowled their opponents in their respective opening overs. Bangladesh’s collapse was sharp, losing 3 wickets for just 6 runs within 14 balls, putting them on a steep downward trajectory. With the 86-run win in Delhi, India has won the India vs Bangladesh T20I series as the last match remains to unfold on October 12 in Hyderabad.
