SRH all-rounder, Nitish Reddy put in a masterclass show with the bat at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the second T20I between India and Bangladesh on Wednesday. The top three batters, comprising Abhishek Sharma (15), Sanju Samson (10), and Suryakumar Yadav (8) failed to provide a good start as India found themselves reeling at 41 for 3. Nitish Reddy, who was once again sent in at number four, stabilized the innings by notching a brilliant partnership with Rinku Singh.

The duo added 108 runs for the fourth wicket and turned the game around completely. Nitish Reddy smashed four fours and as many as seven sixes en-route to a sensational knock of 74 runs off 34 balls. He played at a strike rate of over 200 and helped India get past the 200-run mark.

Following his heroic knock with the bat, Reddy credited Suryakumar Yadav and Indian coach for giving him the opportunity to showcase his skills on the big stage. The SRH all-rounder wants to continue in the same vein and replicate such performances in the future

“Feels great to represent India, feel so proud about this moment. Grateful for things. Credit to goes to the captain and coach as they gave me the licence to play fearless cricket. I took my time initially, but after that no-ball, everything went my way. It feels great to play for the Indian team. I want to continue in this same way. Want to keep repeating such good performances,” said Reddy after his heroic knock.

Nitish Reddy made his T20I debut in the first T20I of the series against Bangladesh in Gwalior. He played an unbeaten 16 off 15, guiding India to a comfortable win.

India seal the series 2-0 with an 86-run win in second T20I

Along with Nitish Reddy, KKR sensation Rinku Singh played a stellar knock of 53 runs in just 29 balls. Rinku was promoted to number five and he didn’t disappoint. Once again, all-rounder Hardik Pandya shone brightly with the bat.

He played a stellar cameo of 32 off 19 balls, powering India to a mammoth score of 221 runs in the first innings. In reply, Bangladesh, once again, failed to make an impact with the bat. The Tigers managed to amass 135 runs in their 20 overs, falling 86 runs short of the target.

The third and final T20 international is scheduled to take place at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Saturday.
