No Place For Sanju Samson In Irfan Pathan's 15-Men Squad for T20 World Cup 2024

After the finish of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Indian team will gear up for the T20I World Cup, which will be starting on June 1st, 2024, in USA and West Indies. To mark their place in the squad for the World Cup, every player are showing their top-notch performance in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) by performing well for their respective franchise. Throwing light on this, former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan has picked his 15-member squad for the upcoming T20I World Cup.

Men in Blue is likely to announce the preliminary squad for the marquee event, which will start just after the completion of the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and every team can change their players in the initial squad till May 25th. Talking with Star Sports, the former Indian cricketer picked his possible 15-member Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2024, where he has named Rishabh Pant as the wicket-keeping option with Yashsvi Jaiswal and Shubaman Gill as the opening option with senior players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. He has also shared the details of the 15-member squad on his social media, where he has said that it will be a good option to have Yashsvi Jaiswal at number 3 while Rohit and Kohli open the innings and set the stage for the match.

"Now that World Cup is nearing. My top 3 for team India. 1) Rohit Sharma (in form as well as captain) 2) Yashasvi Jaiswal (been saying that he should be there even before his 100 purely cos he was performing well for team India before the ipl)," Pathan posted on X.

3) Virat Kohli. (Shouldn't be any question regarding his place or strike rate. His strike rate at the T20I is 138 + Better than Chris Gayle+ 51 avg. N his ipl strike rate this season is 150)"

Pathan has also picked Suryakumar Yadav as one of the batters who must be part of the playing 11 after his return to the Mumbai Indians squad due to injury. However, the former all-rounder Rinku Singh and Shivam Dube, for the finisher role in the squad as the batters who can turn out to be match winners in the upcoming T20I World Cup for the Indian team.

The former left-arm pacer has named Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal in his 15 members after their performance in the tournament from Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals.
