Rajasthan Royals Posted An Emotional Post For Yashasvi Jaiswal

If there is a batsman who has been the talk of the town in recent times from the Indian national cricket team for exceptional batting skills is none other than Yashasvi Jaiswal, who became a global sensation in his debut match by scoring a hundred in a Test match against West Indies. He achieved this while opening the batting with a score of 171 runs. He also received the Player of the Match award. After that, he made his T20I debut in the 3rd match of the T20I series against West Indies in August 2023, where he scored his maiden T20I half-century –84* off 51 balls – in the fourth series match while sharing a 165-run opening partnership with Gill. However, the turning point came in Jaiswal's cricketing career when he was selected in India's squad for the 5-match Test series against England at home, where in his first Test, he scored 80 runs off just 74 balls.

In the second match of the series, he made his maiden double-century, scoring 209 runs off 290 balls in the first innings. With this, he became the third youngest Indian batsman, after Sunil Gavaskar and Vinod Kambli, to score a double hundred in Test cricket. He didn't stop his good form here in the next match, he scored another double century, becoming the third Indian batter after Vinod Kambli and Virat Kohli to hit double centuries in consecutive Test matches.

In the ongoing series against Sri Lanka, the Southpaw batter achieved a significant record during India's 2nd T20I game Vs Sri Lanka on Sunday.

Jaiswal surpass 1,000 international runs in 2024

It would not be wrong to say that Jaiswal has been one of the consistent players from the Indian team in all the formats. By doing this, he became the first male batter to score 1,000 international runs in 2024. In the process, he left behind legends of the game, by achieving the milestone in just his 13th match. So far, the Rajasthan Royals batter has racked up 1023 runs in 13 matches, including 2 centuries, and an impressive average of 63.93. It is surely a remarkable feat, because Jaiswal made his international debut last year, and has since become an integral member of the Indian team.

Despite his average performance in the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League, he was picked up in the 15-man squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 based on his talent. However, he didn't get a chance to play as India went ahead with the opening partnership of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. The left-handed batter made a comeback in the Zimbabwe series and accumulated 141 runs in 3 matches, with a strike-rate of 165.88.
