Without much of doubt, Ravindra Jadeja is one the biggest and celebrated names in the Indian cricket at this moment. His contributions both in the batting as well as bowling departments have been top notch since his making his international cricket debut back in 2009 against Sri Lanka in the ODI format of the game. He may have made his debut as a left-arm orthodox spinner but has grown his stature immensely as a genuine all-rounder who can contribute both with the bat and ball across the formats of the sport. Moreover, it is his fielding that makes him an extraordinary cricketer in the world. In this article, we talk more about Ravindra Jadeja highest score in international cricket and his top scores.

Incidentally, Ravindra Jadeja was part of the Virat Kohli-led India Under-19 team that won the Under 19 World Cup in 2008 where he ended up taking as many as 10 wickets from 6 matches. He was then quickly fastracked into the international cricket scenes having made his ODI debut for the Indian cricket team against Sri Lanka in February 2009. It took him four more years to make his debut for India in the longest format of the game. The southpaw all rounder made his Test debut against England in 2012, however, he did not had the best of performances in his first-ever Test match at the biggest level.

He went through a disappointing time during his initial days of cricketing career, having been banned from the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2010 and was also dropped from the Indian team in all three formats of the game. After performing really well in the domestic circuit, Jadeja once again returned back into action and notched up his maiden international century in 2018 against West Indies at his home ground in Rajkot.

While talking about Ravindra Jadeja highest score in international cricket, the incidence took place during the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka at home in 2022. In the opening Test match against the Lankan side, the duo of Hanuma Vihari and Rishabh Pant notched up fine half-centuries each to lay a strong foundation in the middle-order. However, it was Jadeja who completely stole the limelight and became a viral event on all the cricket news platforms. He notched up a staggering unbeaten innings of 175 runs off 228 deliveries that included as many as 17 fours and 3 sixes. It was Jadeja's highest score that helped India finish with a mammoth score of 574 for 8. Many of the cricketing experts also believed that there was a lot of time left in the Test match and thus, the then Test captain Rohit Sharma could have waited for some time before declaring India's innings as Jadeja was very close to smashing his maiden Test double century. In the same Test match, the left-arm spinner also took a brilliant five-wicket haul to achieve the feat for the second time in his international career, of scoring a hundred and taking a five-wicket haul during the same Test match.

While talking about his records in international cricket, Ravindra Jadeja is only the third Indian cricketer after the legendary Kapil Dev and Ravichandran Ashwin to achieve the feat of scoring more than 3000 runs and claiming a minimum of 250 wickets in Test cricket. He is also one of the few cricketers in the world who has scored atleast 1000 runs and picked up 100 wickets in the 50-overs format of the game. Interestingly, Jadeja has completed the triple of 1000 runs, 50 wickets and 50 catches in ODI cricket.

Ravindra Jadeja stats are in the talks as the 35-year-old all rounder nears the last few years in international cricket. His cricketing career varies in each of the three formats of the game with Test matches being the best followed by ODIs and T20I cricket. The southpaw has composed a wonderful tally of 3036 runs from 72 Test matches that includes 20 half-centuries and 4 hundreds. He has managed to pick up as many as 294 wickets in the longest format of the game at an average of 24.14. In the 50-overs format of the game, he has taken 220 wickets and scored 2756 runs from 197 ODI matches. The left-handed all-rounder has scored 480 runs in 66 T20I games and scalped 53 wickets at a fine economy of 7.1.

Ravindra Jadeja is part of the India squad for the upcoming edition of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 scheduled to be hosted in the West Indies and United States of America (USA). Despite not being in the best of forms both with the bat and ball in the IPL 2024 season, he will surely be one of the key players for India in the mega event.
