In the second game of the exciting Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) double-header Sunday, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will be up against the Delhi Capitals (DC) scheduled to be held at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on 12 May, 2024. Both these teams will be feeling pretty much high on confidence after having registered impressive victories each in their respective outings. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru are coming off from an amazing 60-run victory against the Punjab Kings while Delhi Capitals got the better of Rajasthan Royals by a margin of 20 runs in their most recent IPL 2024 match. However, both the teams will be hoping to bring their best game on the table in this business end of the tournament.
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru have definitely punched above their weight to register their fourth consecutive victory in this Indian Premier League 2024 season. During the opening phase of the T20 competition, the 2016 finalists suffered a total of five back-to-back defeats. However, with some changes in their playing combination, the Faf du Plessis-led team have finally found a balanced line-up with which they are still alive in this race to qualify for the IPL 2024 playoffs. But, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru will have to win both of their remaining matches against Delhi Capitals, Chennai Super Kings and then also hope that some of the other results go in their favour. They will be eyeing to play with the best of their abilities both in the batting as well as bowling departments in these last two league matches.
On the other hand, the Delhi Capitals have managed to win 3 out of their last five encounter in this season after which they have their faith in their own hands. The Rishabh Pant-led team are currently placed at the fifth position on the IPL 2024 points table with a total of 6 victories and as many losses. However, in a massive blow, their skipper Rishabh Pant has been handed a one-match suspension after his third offense for maintaining a slow over rate against Rajasthan Royals in the previous game and this means that he will be unavailable for the match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru starting on Sunday. In order to book a spot in the IPL 2024 playoffs, Delhi Capitals will have to beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Lucknow Super Giants in their final two league games by a good margin to improve their Net Run Rate (NRR) as well.

In the absence of Rishabh Pant, left-arm spinner Axar Patel might be appointed as the stand-in captain for this RCB vs DC IPL 2024 match on Sunday.
