After winning the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008, the Rajasthan Royals are yet to taste another successful edition in this high-profil T20 tournament. Rajasthan Royals have definitely done some hardwork ahead of the much-awaited IPL auction 2025 as they have decided to retain a maximum of six cricketers. They have shown a lot of faith in the players who have performed extremely well during the last few seasons of the Indian Premier League. However, the Rajasthan Royals will enter the IPL 2025 mega auction with a purse size of INR 41 Crore with a total of 12 minimum slots available.
List of RR retained players for IPL 2025
There were not many surprises as skipper Sanju Samson had to be the first retention for the Rajasthan Royals at a massive price of INR 18 Crore. On the other hand, after stunning performances during the last two IPL editions, swashbuckling batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal has also been retained at a whopping amount of INR 18 Crore. RR have invested in the youngster duo of Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel having retained them at INR 14 Crore each. The Rajasthan Royals have retained West Indies' big-hitting batter Shimron Hetmyer at a price worth INR 11 Crore and they have also utilized the newly revived IPL retention rule which states that a cricketer can be retained as an uncapped player if he has not been part of the India playing XI during the last five years or more. RR have retained 31-year-old pace bowler Sandeep Sharma as an uncapped player at an amount worth INR 4 Crore. After having retained their maximum limit of six players, Rajasthan Royals won't have a single Right To Match (RTM) option available at the IPL 2025 auction.
