Bangladesh won the 5-match T20I series by 4-1 after Zimbabwe won the final match of the series by 8 wickets while chasing a target of 158 runs in 18.3 overs thanks to the incredible batting performance by Brian Bennett and skipper Sikandar Raza, who scored 70 and 72 runs respectively.
After facing 4 back-to-back defeats, the guest really bounced back hard in the last game of the series, where they dismissed the home team on a score of 157 runs in 20 overs. Brian Bennet and Blessing Muzarabani picked 2 wickets each in their 4 overs spell by conceding 20 and 22 runs each.
Shakib Al Hasan Fails to Perform in his comeback match
Bangladesh Star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who was making his comeback in the national side after an eye injury again failed to score runs in the final match of the 5-match T20 Is series at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur.
After Zimbabwe won the toss and opted to bowl first, Shakib Al Hasan came to bat at number five. Coming back from a finger injury sustained during the ODI World Cup, he had been on rest. However, he soon recovered and was included for the remaining two T20Is. Unfortunately, he fell cheaply, scoring only one run.
Shakib came to bat in the 15th over of the innings when batting all-rounder Brian Bennet struck early and dismissed Shakib. It was a return for the star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan where he got bowled when the delivery pitched up around off stump, angling straight into the stumps, and finding a huge gap between bat and pad as Shakib attempted to defend it, resulting in the ball crashing onto the stumps.
Soon after, in the same over, Bennet struck again, claiming the wicket of skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto as the second victim. Bangladesh put a total of 157 runs in 20 overs. In return, Zimbabwe chased down the target 3 overs before with an incredible batting performance by skipper Sikandar Raza and Brain Bennet.
