Pat Cummins's magic continued in the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) after Sunrisers Hyderabad's 2-run win against Punjab Kings in yesterday's game at Mullanpur Stadium in Chandigarh. With this win, the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise climbed up to the 5th position on the points table, having 6 points in 5 games, winning 3 games out of 5 games. Hyderabad was coming in this game after defeating Chennai Super Kings in their last match at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. In the game between Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab faced a 2-run defeat in the final overs of the innings while chasing a target of 183 runs in 20 overs against a strong bowling lineup of Hyderabad.

This nail-biting match went till the last over, like the previous one where Punjab won the match in the final overs of the innings against Gujarat Titans with the help of sensational Shashank Singh and Young Ashutosh Sharma. In yesterday's game, Punjab Kings needed 29 runs in 6 balls, and Shashank Singh hit a six on the final ball to make the margin of loss to 2 runs. Shashank and Ahustosh smashed 26 runs in the final over against Jaydev Unadkat. However, they lost the game by 2 runs, but it was a great effort by both the batters.

After winning the toss, the Kings decided to bowl first on the new home ground against the strong batting lineup of Sunrisers Hyderabad, who have recently scored the highest total of the Indian Premier League against Mumbai Kings at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

Talking about Ashutosh and Shashank Knock in yesterday's game, Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan said,

"It's great to see youngsters chipping in with such consistency (on Shashank and Ashutosh). There was always hope that they could finish the game, but we got so close and that'll give us confidence going into the future games, but we'll have to do better going ahead."

With Tuesday's loss, Punjab Kings find themselves in 6th position. Next up, they will face Rajasthan Royals in their upcoming game.
