Sunrisers Hyderabad caught everyone's attention with their bold and attacking style of cricket in IPL 2024. Although they finished as runners-up, the team showcased immense potential across various departments. Looking ahead to the IPL 2025 auction, they made a significant move by securing South Africa's Heinrich Klaasen for a whopping Rs 23 Crore. In addition to Klaasen, the 2016 champions also splashed big money to keep Australian stars Travis Head and Pat Cummins on their roster. For their Indian contingent, they opted for youth, as Abhishek Sharma and Nitish Kumar Reddy were retained in the squad.

The 2024 lineup played well for SRH so the franchise opted to retain their core ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. Hyderabad paid a whopping 23 crore to Heinrich Klaasen, making him the highest-paid player in the retention list. The franchise, furthermore, opted to retain their skipper Pat Cummins for 18 crore, and the blazing opening duo of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma for 14 crore each. Finally, Sunrisers Hyderabad retained all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy for 6 crore as their fifth pick. After splurging 75 crore in retentions, SRH will go into IPL 2025 mega auction with 45 crore and 1 RTM card in their purse.
