All Hail the CHAMPIONS! Team India have been proudly crowned as the winners of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 after having registered an amazing 4-wicket victory over New Zealand in the finals hosted at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. It was a pretty all-round effort both from the bowlers and batters to show magnificent temperament in the penultimate encounter. With this emphatic win, India have become the first team to win the ICC Champions Trophy title for the third time.

All-round India deliver on the big day to win the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 title

After losing yet another toss and being asked to bowl first, India did not had the best of starts with the new ball as New Zealand got off to a flier with the in-form Rachin Ravindra smashing 37 runs off just 29 balls. However, it was once again India's mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy who broke the 57-run opening stand by removing Will Young in the 8th over of the game. Indian captain Rohit Sharma then came up with a brilliant tactical move by introducing left-arm legspinner Kuldeep Yadav early in the 11th over and he delivered with some pure class with the ball.

Kuldeep turned the game on its head by taking the prized scalps of Rachin and Kane Williamson to reduce New Zealand at 75 for 3. India's spin quartet of Varun Chakravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel continued to take control of the game in the middle-overs by picking wickets at regular intervals. For New Zealand, Daryl Mitchell kept on fighting from one end as he scored 63 runs off 101 deliveries. Towards the end, the Indian pacers leaked a few crucial runs as Michael Bracewell smashed an impressive unbeaten knock of 53 runs off 40 deliveries to help New Zealand finish with a fighting total of 251 runs on the scoreboard. For India, the duo of Chakravarthy and Kuldeep picked up two wickets each.

In reply, Team India got off to a sensational start at the top with both the openers, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill adding a fabulous 105-run partnership. While Rohit was playing his usual attacking game, Shubman got some time to settle down on the crease. However, New Zealand's superman fielder Glenn Phillips once again showed his brilliance on the field by taking a superb catch to send back Shubman in the 19th over. India did feel the pressure after Virat Kohli lost his wicket cheaply in the tricky run-chase.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma led his team from the front with an exceptional innings of 76 runs off 83 balls that included 7 fours and 3 sixes before getting dismissed by Rachin Ravindra. New Zealand should have believed that they have definitely made a comeback in the game with Rohit's wicket, however, the duo of Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel had other plans as they stitched an important 61-run partnership. Iyer again batted really well against the New Zealand spinners in the middle-overs, scoring a vital knock of 48 runs.

Just like the semi-final encounter, the Indian fans once again felt a bit of pressure with the wicket of Iyer and Axar towards the end. However, it was the duo of Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul who performed the finishing touches to help India take complete control of the game. Hardik showed off his fine power-hitting skills with a run-a-ball 18 while Rahul played another unbeaten knock of 34 runs. Ravindra Jadeja smashed the winning runs to help India finish off in style and lift the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 title.
