After the tremendous success of IPL(Indian Premier League) over the years from its inception, the Gentleman's game is reaching new horizons in the country where hundreds of young players are taking part in it to show their prowess in front of the World. One of the leagues that is all set with its second season is the UPT20 League organised by the government of Uttar Pradesh.
Recently, the renowned league has signed former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina as the brand ambassador for the upcoming season, who also hails from the Uttar Pradesh region. This league will kickstart on 25th of August. The 2011 World Cup team-winning player was also the brand ambassador of the inaugural season in 2023, which Kashi Rudras managed to win under the leadership of Karan Sharma.
A total of six teams will participate in the competition and all the matches will be played at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow with final scheduled to be played on September 14.
The Southpaw batter carries a big image in the Eastern UP region as he was part of UP's team for several years before representing team India. Apart from Raina, players like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Rinku Singh will also be part of different teams in the 2nd edition of the tournament.
In the auction held ahead of the season, Bhuvneshwar Kumar became the most expensive player as Lucknow Falcons fetched him for 30.75 Lakhs INR.
