The ongoing inaugural season of the Madhya Pradesh League (MPL 2024) has been full of excitement and the fans have been entertained with some sensational cricketing action. After a total of 11 amazing matches where all of the five teams competed at the peak of their abilities, the Jabalpur Lions have been crowned as the first-ever MPL 2024 champions having defeated the Bhopal Leopards by a margin of 33 runs in the finals hosted at the Gwalior International Cricket Stadium. There have been a lot brilliant performances in the batting department during the entire T20 competition. 5 Best batters in MPL 2024

1. Aniket Verma (Bhopal Leopards)

While playing for the Bhopal Leopards in the first-ever edition of the Madhya Pradesh T20 League, right-handed batsman Aniket Verma is currently the leading run-getter. He has smashed an impressive total of 273 runs from as many as 6 matches in this T20 competition. The right-hander has a stunning average of more than 54 and a remarkable strike-rate of 195. Aniket has scored a fifty and a century so far in MPL 2024. He has a highest score of 123 runs so far this season. However, Aniket Verma failed to deliver much at the biggest stage having scored just 29 runs off 21 deliveries during the grand finale against Jabalpur Lions. 

2. Abhishek Pathak (Jabalpur Lions)

Abhishek Pathak was the star performer for the Jabalpur Lions in the batting department during the all-important Madhya Pradesh League 2024 final against Bhopal Leopards. While batting first, he smashed a superlative unbeaten innings of 142 runs off only 62 balls that included as many as 12 fours and 11 sixes. On the back of his stunning knock, the Jabalpur Lions managed to reach a massive score of 249 for 4 in their quota of 20 overs. With this performance, Abhishek has taken the second slot in the list of leading run-getters during the MPL 2024 season having scored an exceptional tally of 269 runs from 5 matches at a mind-boggling average of close to 90 that includes a hundred and half-century as well. He also had a sensational strike-rate of more than 210. 

3. Harsh Gawali (Bhopal Leopards)

The MPL 2024 has been a season of rising stars showing their capabilities at this level of the game and Harsh Gawali has been able to show his full potential. He is occupying the third spot in the list of leading run-getters during MPL 2024. Harsh has notched up a total of 198 runs in 6 matches at an average of 33. During the big-ticket final encounter against Jabalpur Lions, he managed to score 24 runs off 13 balls and he failed to convert his start into a big innings. With a strike-rate of more than 131, he has had a highest score of 66 runs in this competition. 

4. Akshat Raghuwanshi (Malwa Panthers)

Malwa Panthers’ swashbuckling batter Akshat Raghuwanshi is placed at the second position in the list of leading run-scorers so far during this season of Madhya Pradesh League. He has composed a fine tally of 182 runs from 4 games at a wonderful average of more than 60. The right-handed batsman has had a fantastic strike-rate of 180.2 that includes a hundred and half-century in the T20 tournament. Akshat has also represented Madhya Pradesh state cricket team across the three formats of the game with a total of 421 runs from 10 first-class fixtures at an average of over 32 that includes as many as four half-centuries and one hundred. 

5. Himanshu Mantri (Rewa Jaguars)

While representing the Rewa Jaguars, Himanshu Mantri has performed really well in the batting department throughout this entire edition of the Madhya Pradesh League T20 2024. The southpaw batsman has smashed as many as 158 runs from 4 games in MPL 2024 so far at a fine average of nearly 40. Himanshu has notched up two half-centuries with a strike-rate of 123.44. The left-handed batsman has also been a consistent performer for Madhya Pradesh in the domestic circuit having scored more than 1800 first-class runs. 

The Malwa Panthers may not have qualified for the finals of MPL 2024, but two of their batters are part of the leading run-getters table. While playing for the Malwa Panthers, Shubham Sharma is placed at the seventh slot with a total of 150 runs in just 4 matches. Shubham has batted really well this season attaining an average of 37.5 and a fabulous strike-rate of more than 182 that includes a best score of 81 runs. While playing for the Jabalpur Lions, Arpit Gaud also notched up 151 runs from 5 games at a blazing strike-rate of close to 200. In the final against Bhopal Leopards, Arpit got his team off to an incredible start at the top having smashed 43 runs off just 16 deliveries.
