SRH vs GT IPL 2025

Top 5 players to watch out for in the SRH vs GT IPL 2025 match

Credits: IPL/X

Coming to IPL 2025, the fans put their hopes of watching high-scoring battles majorly on the shoulders of IPL 2024 runner-ups, Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, the hard-hitting lineup, with the core same as last season, is yet to deliver on those expectations. With a new addition in their explosive lineup, SRH started true to their repute, scoring a mammoth 286 against Rajasthan Royals. Ishan Kishan emerged as the hero, as the No.3 batter hit a scintillating century on his SRH debut. However, the team has kept eerily silent since then, facing heavy defeats in their next fixtures. The side, led by Pat Cummins, would hope to end their losing streak, which has charged up to three defeats, in the upcoming SRH vs GT IPL 2025 match.

Key players to watch out for in the SRH vs GT IPL 2025

SRH have collected three defeats after winning their campaign opener in IPL 2025. The hard-hitters seem to have fallen to their style of gameplay, the same that projected them able to score even 300 this season. The opening pair, especially Abhishek Sharma, has proved ineffective up the top. Ishan Kishan, barring that one century, is yet to deliver another impactful knock for the team. The middle is dwindling with Klaasen left with no base to fire from. The bowling is also faring ordinarily, with no one from the attack that contains Mohammed Shami, Harshal Patel, and Pat Cummins coming up with a defining spell. The SRH vs GT IPL 2025 match brings them back home after their 80-run defeat against KKR at Eden Gardens.

Gujarat Titans opened their IPL 2025 campaign with an 11-run defeat against Punjab Kings. However, the 2022 champions, now led by Shubman Gill, quickly found their feet from there, winning their subsequent fixtures against Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru respectively. Clearly in a better position than Sunrisers right now, Gujarat would look to keep their streak up when they arrive in Hyderabad for the SRH vs GT match. While Shubman Gill has struggled to play the big knocks, Jos Buttler has found his form as Sai Sudharsan continues his consistent onslaught.

Sai Sudharsan

The opening batter has been consistently providing his team the ideal start with his swift and stable knocks. Across the three matches that GT has played so far, Sudharsan has accumulated 186 runs at an average of 64.00. The season started with the opener hitting consecutive half-centuries. A third would have been listed in his account if he didn't fall at 49 against RCB at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Nonetheless, as consistent as Sai Sudharsan has been so far in the season, the Gujarat Titan opener would surely be one of the key players to watch out for in the SRH vs GT IPL 2025 match.

Jos Buttler

Leaving Rajasthan Royals after IPL 2024, Jos Buttler has acquired a new batting position in his new team. The No.3 for Gujarat Titans, Buttler started off with a half-century against PBKS. While he fell at 39 against MI, the batter put on an enthralling show in the chase against RCB at Chinnaswamy. His knock in the RCB vs GT fixture scripted the team's victory as Buttler treated the crowd with seamless strokeplay. The English batter hit 6 sixes and 5 fours to remain unbeaten at 73 off just 39 as GT completed the 170-run chase in the 18th over. With his rhythm by his side now, SRH bowlers would like to curb him before Buttler gets going at the batting-friendly surface in Hyderabad.

Mohammed Siraj

The former RCB prospect put on a class act against his ex-franchise in the RCB vs GT fixture recently. The speedster claimed three wickets, rattling the Bengaluru batting lineup. To shine brighter, Siraj gave away runs at an impressive economy of 4.80 as RCB batters found no chance to hit the pacer at Chinnaswamy. While the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium could provide a challenging surface to the bowlers, Siraj has shown his prowess on his good days, clinching wickets and controlling the run flow simultaneously with his lethal pace. With the SRH batters already in a slump of form, Siraj could bank against their weakness to keep up his form in IPL 2025.

Travis Head

In the struggle that the SRH batting lineup has staged so far, only Travis Head has appeared able to challenge the dry patch. Interestingly, it's not much of a slump that is currently challenging Head but his hard-headedness to fire right from the word go. If the team or the batter individually decides to play according to the conditions instead of continuing on their path of aggressive batting, Travis Head could dismantle GT at his home ground. The batter has managed 140 runs across 4 matches with a half-century to his name in the season so far.

Abhishek Sharma

Finally time for the IPL 2024 star to announce his redemption? It remains to be seen, but the opener has a track record of going big against GT, Rashid Khan to be specific. Notorious for hitting the spinners out of the park, Abhishek has maintained a strike rate of over 200.00 against GT's lead spinner. Moreover, Rashid has managed to dismiss the SRH opener only once so far. If his known nemesis serves as the trigger for Abhishek to hit back in form, it would be an interesting sight to witness in the Sunday fixture.
