Two weeks done in the 2025 Indian Premier League and things are looking exciting. There have been a few thrillers this season, but overall, one team has exerted its dominance in most matches. In the 2025 IPL, plenty of new youngsters have showcased their skills at the highest level, going toe to toe with established International stars. The level of domestic cricket for Indians seems to be going up a notch with every year, as the incumbent players make their mark straightaway in the IPL. Still early days, but here are 5 players who have impressed in this edition of cash-rich league.

Top 5 youngsters who have performed well in IPL 2025 so far:

1. Aniket Verma

Playing in a star-studded Sunrisers Hyderabad unit that has Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, and Klaasen, it is young Aniket Verma, who has created the most buzz this season. The 23-year-old batter has been fearless in his approach, scoring sixes at will and keeping the scoreboard ticking in all situations. Aniket got a quick 32 against Lucknow and followed that up with a blistering 74 against Delhi Capitals. He took down bowlers of the caliber of Kuldeep Yadav, Mitchell Starc, and Axar Patel in that game, going on the offensive despite wickets tumbling around him. Still early days, but Aniket Verma seems to be a solid find for Sunrisers Hyderabad this season.

2. Angkrish Raghuvanshi

Angkrish Raghuvanshi burst onto the scene last year for Kolkata Knight Riders, playing an important role in their victorious campaign. He was roped in once again by KKR for IPL 2025, but many would have brushed him aside as a one-season wonder. The 20-year-old shut his critics with a solid start to the campaign, where he has taken the burden off an underperforming Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, and Rinku Singh. Angkrish has scores of 30, 22*, 26, and 50 so far in IPL 2025, getting them on some tricky pitches in Eden Gardens and the Wankhede Stadium. The Mumbai batter seems unfazed by the pressure of the second season, getting in handy contributions in each game for his franchise.

3. Ashwani Kumar

The Mumbai Indians scouts have an uncanny knack for unearthing the next superstars, giving the country the likes of Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, and Tilak Varma to name a few. This season, it seems like they have struck gold with Ashwani Kumar, who made a breezy start to life in the IPL.

The left-arm pacer got a wicket off his first ball in the competition, getting rid of opposition skipper Ajinkya Rahane. He followed that up with the scalps of Rinku Singh, Manish Pandey, and Andre Russell to finish with figures of 3/24. Ashwani Kumar was on the money with his yorkers, and his cutters and slower bouncers were difficult to pick for the batters. He could prove to be a handful this season in the IPL.

4. Sai Sudharsan

Sai Sudharsan isn’t a new name in the IPL, but he is slowly morphing from a side character to a main man this year for Gujarat Titans. The Southpaw is the leading run-scorer for his franchise, with scores of 74, 63, and 49 this season. He seems to have forced on his power-hitting as well this season, scoring more fours and sixes to keep his strike rate healthy.

Sai Sudharsan made winning contributions against Mumbai and Bangalore this season and set the platform in the opening game against Punjab Kings as well. A solid player of pace and good player of spin, Sai Sudharsan seems primed for a big IPL season in 2025.

5. Priyansh Arya

Priyansh Arya made headlines a few months back when he scored six sixes in an over in the Delhi Premier League. He was roped in by Punjab Kings in IPL 2025 and got off to a blistering start on debut. Unnerved by the occasion, Priyansh Arya took down Gujarat’s Arshad Khan in the powerplay and attacked even experienced bowlers like Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj.

Priyansh couldn’t get going in the second game, but he still has shown enough promise already in this IPL. A clean striker of the ball, Priyansh Arya has all the makings of a modern-day T20 batter who could excel under the tutelage of Ricky Ponting and Shreyas Iyer.
