1. Jasprit Bumrah - Mumbai Indians

While playing for the Mumbai Indians, the fast bowler has taken a total of 13 wickets from a total of 8 games so far. He is the current holder of the Purple Cap IPL 2024 season with a sensational bowling economy rate of 6.38. Talking about his entire IPL career stats, Bumrah has picked up an impressive tally of 158 wickets from 128 matches at an economy of 7.33 and bowling average of 22.68. The pacer took a match-winning five-wicket haul against RCB earlier this season which was his highest wicket in one match of IPL 2024. He has definitely looked as the standout bowler for the Mumbai Indians so far this year. 

2. Yuzvendra Chahal - Rajasthan Royals

Right-arm legspinner Yuzvendra Chahal has performed amazingly well with the ball for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) since being picked by the franchise in the IPL 2022 mega auction. He also holds the record for taking the most wickets in IPL history having picked up as many as 200 wickets from 153 IPL matches at a fine economy of less than 8. While talking about the ongoing edition of the tournament, Chahal is slotted at the second position amongst the list of highest wicket taker in IPL 2024 with as many as 13 wickets in 8 matches. He is famously known to pick wickets at crucial junctures of a T20 encounter. 

3. Harshal Patel - Punjab Kings 

While representing the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Indian Premier League 2024 season, right-arm pacer Harshal Patel is placed at the third position amongst the top five bowlers being the highest wicket taker in IPL 2024. He has picked up as many as 13 wickets from 8 games at a bowling average of 21.38. Alongside Dwayne Bravo, Harshal holds the joint record in the IPL updates for taking the most wickets in IPL during a single season as he achieved the feat in 2021 having taken 32 wickets from just 15 games. While talking about his IPL career, he has taken as many as 124 scalps from 100 games at a fine economy of 8.67. 

4. Gerald Coetzee - Mumbai Indians

After some impressive performances for South Africa in the ICC World Cup 2023, speedster Gerald Coetzee was procured by the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2024 auction. He has taken a total of 12 wickets so far from 8 games in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 season. The Mumbai Indians pacer has been a lot expensive with the ball having an economy of over 10 but he has a bowling strike-rate of 14.25 in this T20 competition. Coetzee ended up taking as many as three wickets in the previous game against Punjab Kings having conceded 32 runs in his quota of four overs. 

5. Sam Curran - Punjab Kings

Despite the Punjab Kings not doing well in this Indian Premier League 2024 season, left-arm pacer Sam Curran has bowled excellently so far. The English cricketer is placed at the fifth position amongst the bowlers to take most wickets in IPL 2024. He has picked up as many as 11 scalps from a total of 8 IPL 2024 matches at an average of 19.18. While talking about his IPL career, Curran has taken 53 wickets from 54 games at an economy of 9.43.
