The 13th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season is scheduled to be played between the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and the Punjab Kings (PBKS) on 1 April, 2025 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Both these teams will be feeling very much high on confidence as they are coming into this match after brilliant wins in their respective previous outings during this ongoing T20 competition. Lucknow Super Giants came back strongly after the first loss as they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad while Punjab Kings registered a superb victory over Gujarat Titans in their opening match this season. Thus, it will be really important for both these sides to continue the winning momentum.

LSG vs PBKS IPL head to head battle

The Lucknow Super Giants have been marred with a lot of injury issues especially in their pace bowling attack at the start of the Indian Premier League 2025 season. However, LSG's current bowling attack have definitely punched above their weights to get the better of the explosove Sunrisers Hyderabad explosive batting line-up in the last match. On the other hand, Punjab Kings are looking a pretty balanced and dangerous unit in this tournament, looking at their performance against Gujarat Titans. In the LSG vs PBKS head to head battle during the IPL history, the Lucknow Super Giants have dominated to a great extent with a total of three wins from four matches between these two sides. During the most recent meeting in IPL 2024 between these two teams, Lucknow Super Giants defeated Punjab Kings by 21 runs.

3 player battles to watch out for in the LSG vs PBKS IPL 2025 match

1. Nicholas Pooran vs Marco Jansen

Without much of doubt, left-handed Nicholas Pooran has looked as the most dangerous batter so far in the Indian Premier League 2025 season. After an impressive fifty in the first match against Delhi Capitals, the explosive southpaw batter played a sensational match-winning knock of 70 runs off only 26 deliveries that included 6 sixes and as many fours. However, Punjab Kings newest recruit Marco Jansen has dismissed Pooran twice in the shorter format of the game. But the Caribbean left-hander has a fine strike-rate of more than 145 against the Proteas left-arm pacer. Therefore, this will be an exciting battle to watch out for in the Lucknow Super Giants vs Punjab Kings IPL 2025 match.

2. Shreyas Iyer vs Shardul Thakur

After coming off from excellent performances at the international level, Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer continued his exploits with the bat in IPL 2025 as well. During the first game for Punjab Kings, skipper led his team from the front with a staggering unbeaten innings of 97 runs off just 42 balls that consisted of 9 sixes and 5 fours against Gujarat Titans. On the other hand, Shardul Thakur was drafted into the Lucknow Super Giants squad as a replacement player after he remained unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction. However, he has definitely silenced his critics with a total of 6 wickets from 2 matches at an average of below 10. It has been an exciting between these two Indian cricketers in the IPL history so far. Shreyas has a strike-rate of nearly 130 while Shardul has dismissed the right-hander only once.

3. Glenn Maxwell vs Avesh Khan

It was not the best of starts for Punjab Kings' swashbuckling all-rounder Glenn Maxwell as he was dismissed for a golden duck in the match against Gujarat Titans. On the other hand, things did not work out in an ideal manner for right-arm pacer Avesh Khan as well during his return in Lucknow Super Giants jersey. In the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the speedster conceded as many as 45 runs in his quota of four overs and picked up just a single wicket. During the head-to-head battle between these two cricketers, Maxwell has had the upper hand to a great extent with a remarkable strike-rate of 196.15 and Avesh has failed to dismiss the Australian even once in the IPL history.
