The Mumbai Indians (MI) are all charged up for their second home game in the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) scheduled to be held against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on 7 April, 2025. Incidentally, both these teams will be entering this game after witnessing poor losses each in their respective previous outings during the ongoing edition of the T20 competition. Mumbai Indians suffered a heartening defeat at the hands of Lucknow Super Giants in their previous game while the Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered their opening loss in IPL 2025 against Gujarat Titans. Thus, it will be really crucial for both these sides to make a winning comeback.

MI vs RCB IPL head to head records

One more time, five-time champions Mumbai Indians have not had the best of starts to their campaign in the Indian Premier League as they have managed to win just a single game out of their four matches so far. The Hardik Pandya-led MI team have suffered disappointing losses against Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bangalore. On the other side, after winning a couple of games in a row, the Royal Challengers Bangalore witnessed their first defeat this season against Gujarat Titans.

However, while talking about MI vs RCB IPL head to head records, the Mumbai Indians have had the upper hand to a great extent. Out of the 33 IPL matches played between these two teams, the Mumbai Indians have won a total of 19 games while the Royal Challengers Bangalore have emerged victorious on 14 occasions. During their IPL 2024 face-off, Mumbai Indians defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 7 wickets.

3 player battles to watch out for in the MI vs RCB IPL 2025 match

1. Suryakumar Yadav vs Krunal Pandya

While playing for the Mumbai Indians, Suryakumar Yadav looked in a stunning form during the last run-chase against Lucknow Super Giants as he smashed a blistering knock of 67 runs off just 43 balls that included 9 fours and 1 six. On the other hand, left-arm spinner Krunal Pandya had a brilliant performance for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in their first match as he picked up three vital wickets and gave away just 29 runs in his four overs. However, it has been an exciting battle between these two smart cricketers in the history of the Indian Premier League. Krunal has found success just a single time while Suryakumar has a strike-rate of nearly 120 against the spin bowling all-rounder. Thus, it will be an interesting face-off on Monday during the Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL 2025 match.

2. Virat Kohli vs Deepak Chahar

Former RCB captain Virat Kohli had an impressive start to his IPL 2025 campaign with a fine half-century against the Kolkata Knight Riders during the tournament opener. On the other side, right-arm pacer Deepak Chahar has bowled really well so far in this competition but he has not been amongst the wickets. Kohli has a formiddable record in the IPL history against the seamer. The right-hander has a strike-rate of close to 135 and has been dismissed just once against Chahar. Therefore, it will be an exciting battle to watch out for in the MI vs RCB IPL 2025 encounter.

3. Tim David vs Trent Boult

With a massive reputation of finishing games in T20 cricket, hard-hitting batsman Tim David has been firing all cylinders so far for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 18th edition of the IPL. He smashed a quick-fire cameo of 32 runs off only 18 deliveries against Gujarat Titans. On the other hand, left-arm pacer Trent Boult has also bowled well in patches on his return to the Mumbai Indians camp. David has an exceptional record against the pacer in the IPL meetings. The big-hitting finisher has a remarkable strike-rate of 175 and is yet to be dismissed by Boult.
