The in-form Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are ready to cross the swords with the Gujarat Titans (GT) in their third match of this Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season scheduled to be held on 2 April, 2025 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Both these teams will surely be feeling very much high on confidence as they are coming into this match after winning in their respective previous outings during the ongoing T20 tournament. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru are coming off from a sensational victory against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their most recent IPL 2025 outing while Gujarat Titans got the better of Mumbai Indians during their previous encounter. Thus, it will be really vital for both these sides to extend this winning momentum in the rest of the competition as well.

RCB vs GT IPL head to head records

It has been a dream start for the Royal Challengers Bangalore so far in the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League as they are currently unbeaten in the tournament. The Rajat Patidar-led RCB team have managed to win both their matches against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings. On the other hand, Gujarat Titans did not had the best of starts losing their opening game against Punjab Kings, but they came back strongly to register their first win of IPL 2025 against Mumbai Indians. While talking about the RCB vs GT head to head battle in the IPL history, the Royal Challengers Bangalore have a slight edge over their opponents.

Out of the five matches played between these two sides so far, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru have managed to win as many as three games while Gujarat Titans have emerged victorious on just two occasions. Interestingly, Bangalore defeated Gujarat during both their matches in the previous edition of the IPL.

3 player battles to watch out for in the RCB vs GT IPL 2025 match

1. Jos Buttler vs Josh Hazlewood

Former England captain Jos Buttler was the most expensive overseas player picked in the IPL 2025 mega auction after being bought by the Gujarat Titans at a massive price of INR 15.25 Crore. He smacked an impressive knock of 54 runs off 33 balls against Punjab Kings and also scored 39 runs in the second game. On the other hand, right-arm pacer Josh Hazlewood has been really excellent for the Royal Challengers Bangalore so far in the ongoing T20 tournament having taken as many as 5 wickets from 2 matches. However, the Aussie pacer has dominated the English batter in the shorter format of the game. Incidentally, Hazlewood has dismissed Buttler as many as five time while the wicket-keeper batter has a below par strike-rate of below 100.

2. Virat Kohli vs Prasidh Krishna

Former RCB skipper Virat Kohli has looked in a fine form with the bat so far in this Indian Premier League 2025 season. The right-handed opening batter notched up an unbeaten half-century in the first win for the Royal Challengers Bangalore this season. On the other hand, speedster Prasidh Krishna bowled amazingly well at the death to help the Gujarat Titans pick up their first win of IPL 2025, taking two crucial wickets that eventually decided the faith of the match against Mumbai Indians.

But, Virat Kohli has not found much of success against Prasidh Krishna in the history of the IPL. The Gujarat Titans pacer has dismissed Kohli a total of three times in their face-off. Also, Virat has a poor strike-rate of 109.84 against Krishna.

3. Phil Salt vs Kagiso Rabada

After just two matches, Phil Salt has looked as the best batter for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in this tournament. In the season opener against his former franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders, the explosive England batter smashed a blistering innings of 56 runs off just 31 deliveries that included 9 fours and 2 sixes. However, things have not worked out in an ideal manner for Gujarat Titans senior pacer Kagiso Rabada so far in this competition. On the other hand, Salt has had the upper hand over the speedster in T20 cricket with a phenomenal strike-rate of more than 176 and has been dismissed only once against Rabada.
