The Rajasthan Royals (RR) will be taking on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 28th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season scheduled to be played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on 13 April, 2025. Interestingly, both these teams will be feeling very much low on confidence as they ended up losing their respective previous matches in the ongoing edition of the T20 competition. Rajasthan Royals suffered a disappointing defeat at the hands of Gujarat Titans while Royal Challengers Bengaluru conceded a poor loss against Delhi Capitals during their most recent IPL 2025 match. Thus, both these teams will be aiming to make a strong comeback in this important middle-phase of the tournament.

RR vs RCB IPL head to head battle

It has not turned out to be the best of Indian Premier League seasons for the 2008 winners as they have failed to attain some sort of winning consistency. The Rajasthan Royals have witnessed as many as three poor losses so far in IPL 2025 and have managed to win a couple of games against Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings. On the other hand, apart from the two defeats against Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals, the Royal Challengers Bangalore have looked in a pretty good rhythm this season with 3 victories from 5 matches.

While talking about the RR vs RCB IPL head to head record, it has been a neck-to-neck contest between these two teams. Out of the 32 matches played between these two teams, the Royal Challengers Bangalore have won as many as 15 games and Rajasthan Royals have emerged victorious on 14 occasions while 3 matches ended without a result. During their IPL 2024 face-offs, the Rajasthan Royals ended up winning both their matches against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

3 player battles to watch out for in the RR vs RCB IPL 2025 match

1. Virat Kohli vs Sandeep Sharma

Virat Kohli has witnessed quite mixed fortunes so far in the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League while opening the batting for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He has notched up a total of 186 runs from as many as 5 matches at an average of more than 46 that includes a couple of half-centuries. On the other hand, senior pace bowler Sandeep Sharma's numbers do not do justice to his performance in this competition as he bowled a wonderful 20th over against Chennai Super Kings. Moreover, the pacer has a stunning record against the former RCB captain in the IPL history. Interestingly, Sandeep has dismissed Virat a total of 7 times while the right-hander has a strike-rate of over 140. Thus, it will be interesting to see who bosses the game in the RR vs RCB IPL 2025 contest.

2. Sanju Samson vs Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Despite scoring an excellent half-century in their first match of the season, Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson will surely not be very much satisfied with his performance in the remainder of the games. The swashbuckling right-handed opener has smashed as many as 178 runs in 5 matches at a fine strike-rate of over 150. On the other side, senior fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar is yet to bowl in accordance to his potential in this tournament so far. He has managed to take a total of 5 wickets from 4 matches at an economy of 7.80. While talking about their IPL face-offs, Bhuvneshwar has had the upper hand to a great extent. Samson has been dismissed as many as four times and he has a strike-rate of below 130. Therefore, it will be an exciting battle between these two players during the Rajasthan Royals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL 2025 match scheduled to begin on Sunday.

3. Rajat Patidar vs Maheesh Theekshana

Without much of doubt, Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Rajat Patidar has led his team from the front especially when he smacked that blistering knock of 64 runs off 32 balls against Mumbai Indians. The right-hander has scored 186 runs from 5 games in IPL 2025 at a remarkable strike-rate of more than 161 that includes two fifties. On the other hand, off-spinner Maheesh Theekshana has not been at his best in this competition having picked up 6 wickets from 5 matches at an economy of 9.70. Patidar has a strong reputation of bashing the spinners and he has a smashing strike-rate of close to 190 against Theekshana.
