The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be crossing the swords with the Punjab Kings in the 27th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season scheduled to be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on 12 April, 2025. Incidentally, both these teams will be entering into this contest after having witnessed quite different fortunes during their most recent outings in the ongoing edition of the T20 tournament. Sunrisers Hyderabad ended up conceding a disappointing 7-wicket defeat at the hands of Gujarat Titans in their previous game of the season while Punjab Kings managed to beat Chennai Super Kings in their last outing.

SRH vs PBKS IPL head to head records

It has been a disastrous Indian Premier League season so far for the Sunrisers Hyderabad who finished as the runners-up in IPL 2024. After winning their first match of the ongoing tournament, the Pat Cummins-led SRH team ended up suffering a total of four back-to-back losses against Lucknow Super Giants, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans. On the other hand, the Punjab Kings have witnessed just a single defeat in IPL 2025 and managed to win as many as three encounters.

While considering the SRH vs PBKS IPL head to head battle, the Sunrisers Hyderabad have dominated the proceedings to a great extent. Out of the 23 matches played between these two teams so far, the Sunrisers Hyderabad have taken the lead of 16 games while Punjab Kings have emerged victorious on 7 occasions. During their IPL 2024 face-offs, the Sunrisers Hyderabad ended up winning both the matches.

3 player battles to watch out for in the SRH vs PBKS IPL 2025 match

1. Ishan Kishan vs Arshdeep Singh

Normally, when a player scores a century in his very first match, everyone expects him to have a sensational tournament. However, things have not been the same for Ishan Kishan after that remarkable century in his debut game for the Sunrisers Hyderabad against Rajasthan Royals. Apart from single-digit scores in the next three matches, Ishan ended up scoring just 17 runs in the previous game against Gujarat Titans. On the other hand, left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh has once again bowled really well so far in IPL 2025 picking up as many as four wickets from six matches. However, Arshdeep has dismissed the left-hander thrice in the IPL history while Ishan has a phenomenal strike-rate of more than 200. Thus, it will be an interesting battle to watch out for in the Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Punjab Kings IPL 2025 encounter scheduled to begin on Saturday.

2. Shreyas Iyer vs Pat Cummins

Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer had an amazing start to his IPL 2025 campaign scoring a brilliant unbetaen innings of 97 runs. He also scored an impressive fifty in his second match against Lucknow Super Giants and then he got out cheaply during the recent couple of games. On the other side, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain and fast bowler Pat Cummins has not been at his best with the ball so far in this competition having picked up only 4 wickets from 5 games. Iyer has a fantastic record against Cummins with a staggering strike-rate of nearly 195 and has never been dismissed by the Aussie speedster.

3. Heinrich Klaasen vs Yuzvendra Chahal

For the Sunrisers Hyderabad, swashbuckling wicket-keeper batter Heinrich Klaasen has got some fine starts so far in this tournament but everytime, he has failed to convert them into big innings and this is a massive worry for the IPL 2024 runners-up. On the other hand, the leading wicket-taker in the history of the IPL, Yuzvendra Chahal has picked up just a solitary wicket in the ongoing competition. Moreover, he bowled just a single over in the previous game against Chennai Super Kings. Adding to the leg-spinner's misery, Klaasen has an exceptional strike-rate of more than 200 and has been dismissed only one against Chahal in the IPL history.
