Some performances are so impressive that the opponent can do nothing but applaud the skills on display. One such spell was recently delivered by Jasprit Bumrah, who tore through the Australian batting lineup in Perth. Australia had started well in the opening Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, bundling India out for just 150 in the first innings. However, Bumrah, the interim captain of the visitors, showcased true brilliance as he exploited the fiery Perth pitch to his advantage. The pacer claimed four wickets on the opening day, forcing Australia to wrap up their innings at a meager total of 104. Now, as the teams prepare for the pink-ball Test in Adelaide, Travis Head has lauded the Indian seamer.

Travis Head hails Jasprit Bumrah ahead of the Adelaide Test

Jasprit Bumrah set the tone for India's victory in the opening Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy in Perth. While the team's batting lineup faltered in the first innings, Bumrah's excellence led the team in a favorable position on the first day itself. The seamer dismissed opener Nathan McSweeney in the third over before claiming Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith on consecutive deliveries. As Australia wrapped up the innings at just 104, Bumrah completed a fifer.

While Travis Head fell to debutant Harshit Rana in the first innings, the batter faced the wrath of Bumrah in the final innings. Head was the only Australian batter to pose a threat to the visitors at Perth as he accumulated over 80 runs in the second innings at Perth. However, the batter couldn't survive the red-hot form of Bumrah as the pacer marked Head as his eighth and final wicket in the match. Travis Head, in his latest interaction lauded Bumrah for his pace excellence.

“Jasprit’s going to go down as probably one of the greatest fast bowlers to play the game. I think we’re finding that at the moment, how challenging he can be, and it’s nice to play against that. It’s going to be nice to look back at your career and tell the grandkids that you faced him, so not a bad series to be playing with him," said Head.

While recognizing the threat that Bumrah poses, Head remained confident in the Australian batting order to cope with the challenge at Adelaide. Jasprit Bumrah, having dealt with te pink cherry previously, is going to be elemental for India in the second BGT Test. While Head didn't indulge in the depth of Australia's preparation for Adelaide, he explained that the Kangaroos are ready for the challenge.

(Bumrah) is so unique, and that’s with any of the bowlers, really. Every (batter) picks up different cues and goes about it in a different way," he said.  “I wouldn’t dive into any commentary about preparation. This team is well-prepared, and we’re all supporting each other," he added.
