Former India head coach Ravi Shastri was one of the many legendary cricketers who wished Chahal on the momentous achievement. The former India cricketer said Chahal's latest achievement was a tribute to his consistency over the years. Chahal was introduced in the eighth over, and he took just three balls to bag his first wicket of the last match of the Jaipur leg this season. He took the wicket of Mohammad Nabi, who became the 200th victim of the wily leg-spinner.

Meanwhile, former India teammate Shikhar Dhawan called him the "Sultan of Wickets in IPL" after his IPL achievement. Five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians set a target of 180 for the high-flying Rajasthan Royals. Yashasvi Jaiswal was finally back among runs in the IPL 2024 season with an entertaining century (104 not out off 60 balls) as the Royals cruised in the run chase with nine wickets and eight balls to spare. Sandeep Sharma won the Player of the Match award for his outstanding figures of 5/18. With this win, Rajasthan Royals (14 points) are currently at the top of the IPL 2024 points table.
